Steel City Stampede presented by Peoples Natural Gas will be bigger and better than ever!

Sarver, PA (September 20, 2015) With the cancelation of Saturday Night’s Autumn-Motive Fest 2015, (which already included a bolstered schedule of events due to the previous Saturday’s cancelation of the Back to School Bus and Kid’s Bike Races), this year’s DIRTcar Round Up Steel City Stampede presented by Peoples Natural Gas will be the biggest and best yet!

Having already absorbed the BOSS Wingless Sprints after their July 3 rainout, the Steel City Stampede will add School Bus, Kids Bike Races and Senior Series Stocks to the Thursday Night card; which traditionally just entails rotating hot laps for all divisions.  The $500-to-win RUSH Pro-Stock Pandemonium and two GM Performance 604 Crate Engines and other manufacturer giveaways, as well as the Pic-A-Part Sportsman Top 16 King of the Hill have been added to Friday Night’s schedule of events.

At this time, the only addition to Saturday’s program will be the carryover of the $500 bonus if a GM Performance crate-powered car wins the Millerstown Pic-A-Part Sportsman/Stock feature.  Lernerville Speedway Management has not yet determined if the Demolition Derby will be added to the program.

In addition to the divisions and races listed above, the Peoples TWP DIRTcar Sprints, Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Models, Diehl Automotive DIRTcar Northeast Big Block Modifieds, Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar Sportsman (racing under “Open Rules”), BOSS Wingless Sprints, Sweeney RUSH Late Models, Sweeney RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, UMP E-Modifieds, 4-Cylinders and Enduro cars will all be in action throughout the weekend!  School Buses, Powder Puff Buses, Kids Bikes, Senior Series Stocks and Sweeney RUSH Pro-Stocks bring the total racing during the Steel City Stampede presented by Peoples Natural Gas to a whopping 15 divisions!

But with all of the excitement surrounding the event, Lernerville Speedway and Peoples Natural Gas would like to remind “The Finest Race Fans in the World!” that the Steel City Stampede provides the perfect venue to provide timely information about LIHEAP to race fans in our community as it is scheduled for Thursday through Saturday, October 22-23-24; just a week before LIHEAP opens on November 1.

LIHEAP, (Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program), is a federally funded program that pays a grant of money to a person’s utility company or fuel provider and it will open in Pennsylvania on November 1, 2015.  There are income guidelines that apply.  This grant can be applied toward natural gas, electric, oil, propane or wood.  Applications are available online beginning November 1, 2015 at www.compass.state.pa.us.  Applications can also be picked up at county assistance offices or by calling 1.866.857.7095 beginning November 1.

LIHEAP also features a repair program for broken furnaces or leaking inside house gas lines beginning November 1, 2015.  Persons in need of a furnace repair or line repair should go in person to their local county assistance office to apply.

On November 1, if someone is out of oil, propane, wood, or is someone has been or is having a service termination by a utility company, they can apply as well for additional funding to have a delivery, restore service or stop a termination.

As the race approaches, Peoples Natural Gas and Lernerville Speedway will work together to provide information and reminders to ensure that race fans from all over Western PA will have warm homes and safe environments for the elderly and children.

I hope thats a misprint above for the pandemonium make up race? It says it's $500 to win. Boy, that would make alot of people happy! People think us ppms racers get the screw job all the time. Lernerville stock racers are really taking it from the behind all year!

I think that $500.00 to win is just for the RUSH Pro-Stocks feature....there should be 2 different stock car features....one for the "open" stocks and one for the RUSH crap....

Rescheduled, huh? That's real nice. Well, Jim Fosnaught won last year, Joe Kelley the year before. Who won in 2012? Oh, that's right, no one, because it was rained out and never rescheduled.

So now that Miss Vikki's traveling junk show must be running the program, it get's grafted on to the Round-Up? Good job.

I also think those of you that plan to support this shit storm next year better be prepared on getting rear ended when Miss Skanky cuts the purse for a given number of cars. For example, 14 and under get a lower rate, 15 or more get the old purse. She did it at MRP. You can bank on it at Lernerville for 2016.

So far, it sounds like they cancelled the actual Pandemonium which was already cut from $2000 to $1000. The post literally claims the only races to be won will be the $500 to win Crate only race. Bob Egleys organized King of the Hill. And they claim the other $500 might still be on the line if a crate wins the race. But now where is the last $1000?? So after all this BS went down, the open stock guys went from $2000 to win to absolutely nothing. At least add the $1000 from the Pandemonium onto the $1000 it is to win the Stampede. Mark that race up to $2000. The open motor stock guys keep getting hardcore shafted.

W.T.F. does Lernerville care about the "open motor" guys.....

They have already thrown them out of the speedway for next year....

Doesn't suprise me at this point...

Yeah but why does it say this?  "Sportsman (racing under “Open Rules”),"?

The $500-to-win RUSH Pro-Stock Pandemonium and two GM Performance 604 Crate Engines and other manufacturer giveaways, as well as the Pic-A-Part Sportsman Top 16 King of the Hill have been added to Friday Night’s schedule of events.

Vince. It means the stocks will race under the typical Open Rules for the actual Stampede race that will be run saturday. Same as it has been for the last 5 years. But all they added back to the Friday night program looks to be the Crate only race which was created after they cut the original purse from $2000 to $1000 and Bob's organized event. The actual Pandemonium that was $2000 to win and then $1000 to win has not been rescheduled. SHAFTED!!

It upsets me so much to see racetracks screw drivers like this. Like the sport isnt in enough trouble already.

"Stock guys getting screwed " Is a way to say ? the crates will save you money because you wont  take the money out the back gate anyway?

I still believe the new local owners who worked with the patriarch is great along with great local sponsors ( unless they are influencing motor selection rules) like Peoples gas. )

Is there a gas company that could sponsor PPMS?  TriCity ?

They are drilling gas under them both.

Range? Mark West ? There are lots of them around!

Unless, I am mistaken Lernerville never advertised that the Pandemonium race would pay 2000 to win this year. Yes, it used to pay that and the purse was lowered from previous years.

If the open stock guys want to complain about the purse, why not just get a head start on next year and make this a crate stock race. Then the open guys can go race elsewhere that weekend and not worry about what the stampede pays.
