Ill tell you WHY the fire department isn't there .... It is called greed on the promotors part .... We had a full blown heavy rescue truck go to the track EVERY WEEK with a 6 man crew !! Then all of the sudden the track puts in place that "only" 3 man crew ... The Rest took turns on who is paying to get in for a few weeks . And then cut the 50-50 that THEY SOLD themselves ... Well after a few weeks , the Fire Department decided that they weren't taking their 1/2 million dollar Rescue truck to a race track to get it Trashed (Dirty) each and every week for FREE anymore !!! And the Rest CHILDREN , is history !!! That is WHY they WON'T GO !!!

Well stated! He needs to go back where ever he came from and stay there! The investors need to take back over and get it where is was 6 seasons ago. When the community, schools, fire department and local businesses was all involved. So many people want this to happen.

So they told the rescue truck only 3 guys could come
For free ???? If someone ends up getting seriously injured that would easily constitute gross negligence in court ....

That's very unfortunate. What's also unfortunate is the RACERS keep showing up. Come on guys. Is your safety worth taking this chance ? Close this guy down. Promoters like this do not deserve the chance of getting someone either seriously injured, burned or worse. This needs to be stopped. No one thought the first car should have burned. Some said rare to see something like that. It's happened twice.

The school band use to work the concession stands bring the kids each week and parents worked for free! He stopped that also. This is a small town everybody knows everybody helps everybody he has it where hardly anyone helps him or supports him. He burnt all bridges in the community. There is four fire departments within a ten mile area and none will come to support him. If you are from a small town you know how little the fire department asks for to help. He should not care if they bring ten people on the rescue team. Who in their right mind would! JUST plain GREED!

I agree. Who cares if 20 of them show up and line the track. Its all for the better safety. Let them all in free cause chances are they aren't coming otherwise. This also hurts up and coming fan base because no new people are coming to get hooked on racing. Like the schools mentioned.

For free ???? Yes , that is EXACTLY what happened ....... Those Trucks probably are closer to a Million after they put all the tools on it & some jack ass decided that "he" couldn't afford to let them in the track for free......

This track and our community needs a change! Just maybe he won't make the payment in January! If he was smart he won't. Investors take back over and get Dixie back. The community has been waiting for a change since march! Then we can get back to the way it was before fire department involved, schools involved, drivers and fans involved and make it like it was six seasons ago before he destroyed it!

It's that supposed to be a joke about 2 cars burning to the ground on the track where drivers could have burned to death all because the track owner doesn't have any kind of fire crew ????

Could've. would've. should've is a little to late when someone gets seriously burned or hurt. There is no excuse for a track to not have proper safety for all who attend. Being involved in racing all my life you learn from these type of situations. We keep a fire extingisher in our trailer. Everyone knows where it is and they know how to use it. So what makes it so difficult for the track to invest in some extingishers and train their employees? I also noted there is not alot of employees, which could also make it difficult if something gets out of hand. Why not, if your a racer at that track, try to get a group together to help out the track? Make your own safety crew? If you believe in that track and want to race, lets get together and protect ourselves and the fans? Yes Jon, I can hear you now, why should we? But I say how can we not? If you truly believe in racing we have to help somehow to try and make sure the future of our sport can continue. And this topic of safety is a responsibility of everyone involved. We can let the track close or help out and keep racing?

When I pay thousands to have a booth spot at the Pittsburgh convention center perhaps I should personally shovel and salt all of the sidewalks and parking lots as well ..... Track owners need to charge whatever pit fee is required to supply a safety crew period. If they want to reduce entry fees and have us pay difference to the safety crew directly I would be fine with that ..... A track closing isn't the end of the world ....

awhile back we all use to have a fire ext mounted in the car or a system that would help but it was the drivers and car owners that killed hat rule. As for the two fires was it lack of proper maintance or routing a fuel line  I understand one was a shock fire where shock broke and oil went on header and the other was a 4cyl fire with std lines and std equipment  maybe the tech guys need to go over the cars closer and not let some race.

It's not the teams responsibility. You start something like that your opening up a big can of legal issues for people that where just trying to help. This promotor has seemed to burn many bridges. Remember, and I am on the racers side, I would just like to hear his explanation as to why the hell he is taking a chance like this ? Here's a question. Most ambulance squads, to my knowledge anyhow, in there neck of the woods work out of local fire house's. Do they have a ambulance on site ? Nobody has ever brought this matter up.

The property owners themselves may also be putting themselves at risk for not making it mandatory thru the lease that states trained fire personal need to be on site. Especially after 2 cars turn into fireballs.

No JO it's all our fault !!!! Management at local race tracks essentially tells us racers to choke on a bag of dicks and if they go out of business its our fault lol lol lol lol. I guess it's our fault that GM was 50 billion in debt also ....

People will call on the forth of July talking about one of their deck lights is burned out and they want it fixed today lol lol. Then I remind them that we offer upgraded led models that don't burn out but they didn't choose that option !!! I deal with BS like that ..... Not having a safety crew would
Be like a customer calling me telling me their deck fell off the house and me
Telling them if they don't like it call another builder next time lol lol lol
