STATELINE SPEEDWAY TO DEVELOP & DEBUT SWEENEY RUSH PRO MODS IN 2016 AS AN AFFORDABLE E-MOD DIVISION

December 8, 2015            FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Pulaski, PA)…As the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series powered by Pace Performance embarks on its fourth season of operations in 2016, the Series is excited to add a fourth division under its banner.  The RUSH Pro Mods, an E-Mod style car, will also feature the GM 604 & GM 602 crate engine as do RUSH sister divisions, Late Models, Sportsman Modifieds (602s only), and Pro Stocks.  The Sweeney RUSH Pro Mods will begin its journey as a weekly division on Saturday nights at Stateline Speedway in Busti, NY.  Stateline will also continue under the Sweeney RUSH Late Model Weekly Series banner for the second straight year in 2016.

The RUSH Pro Mods will permit the Econo Mods that currently race at several tracks throughout the region to compete in the division for one year.  The RUSH Pro Mods will utilize a Hoosier Tire rule along with RUSH’s $3.50 spec 91 pump gas and a spec shock package.  A complete RUSH Pro Mod technical rules package will soon be released.

A $10,625 Weekly Series point fund has been posted for the inaugural season and will mirror and be formatted similar to RUSH’s other classes.  The Pro Mod Weekly Championship program will award $10,025 with $3,000 to-win paying down to $250 for 15th for member drivers, and a $600 “Futures Cup” program will also be included (note: membership is only available for drivers running the GM 604 or 602 engine package).  In addition, an inaugural RUSH Pro Mod “Manufacturers Night” will be held at Stateline Speedway later in the summer.  As with all RUSH divisions, membership is optional; however, membership not only makes drivers eligible for the point funds, but also gives member drivers $100,000 of excess participant accident insurance.

"The Scott Family contacted us this fall about putting together a crate engine program for the E-Mods at Stateline," explained Series Director Vicki Emig.  “We think Stateline is a great place to grow this division, just as Sharon and Lernerville originally were with our Sportsman Modifieds, as there has always been a large bed of E-Mod racers throughout that immediate region. Over the years we've had E-Mod racers approach us about starting a series for them, and with the solid foundation under our other divisions as well as with Stateline, the timing is right.”

“The interest has been very high even before this official announcement,” continued Emig.  “We’re really looking forward to bringing all of the important elements of the RUSH Racing Series to the Pro Mod division.  We believe the RUSH technical program, championship programs, and promotional opportunities will also help this class prosper and grow into the future just as we have seen with our other divisions."

Minimum RUSH Pro Mod Weekly Series Point Fund ($10,025): 1. $3,000  2. $1,500  3. $1,000  4. $750  5. $600  6. $500  7. $400  8. $350  9. $325  10. $300  11. $270  12. $265  13. $260  14. $255  15. $250.

RUSH Pro Mod “Futures Cup”: 1. $300  2. $200  3. $100.

A RUSH Pro Mod website is currently under development and will be soon online at www.rushpromods.com.  Like the RUSH Pro Mods on Facebook at www.facebook.com/rushpromods and follow us on Twitter @RUSHProMods

In 2015, RUSH sanctioned events at 24 different speedways through a 600-mile radius from Brighton, Ontario, Canada to Mechanicsville, Maryland with well over 400 drivers competing with GM 604 or 602 crate engines in the RUSH Late Models, RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, and RUSH Pro Stocks.

Stateline Speedway is located nine miles southwest of Jamestown, NY, south of Busti, NY at 4150 Kortwright Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.  For more information, check out their website at www.newstatelinespeedway.com.  Follow them on Twitter @NewStatline.  Their phone number is 716-720-2403.

Yeah... I have to agree. I'm actually a supporter of crate racing as I think if reigned in could be a great way to get someone started... but wow... now there's emod economod promod... and to the common spectator they're all the same. Look, what ever happened to stock cars that looked like stock cars and when mods were mods and sprints were sprints. I wonder if anyone could list each division and variations of just in western pa alone. Promoters wonder why the empty bleachers... well... when I take someone and I have to explain that yes, these cars look the same as the last that were just out there but they're different... well... it takes some of the excitement out of it.

This will be fine if they combine it with the Econo Mod class by 2017!!   Of course I still think we have way too many classes at most tracks!!

Oh boy, I can hardly wait! Another lame ass division that'll be packaged with the rest of the RUSH crap when Vikki's puppet Gary, pre-empts my Fab Fo, er Three shows with one of his lame specials. Oh well, good excuse to go to Williams Grove.

Seven divisions at a weekly show is still retarded.

I think Stateline is down to six divisions which is too many. Lates, crate lates, emods, crate emods, and street stocks are every week. The front wheel drive challengers and the sportsmen aka lawnmowers rotate every other week.  Lucas Oil said no show this year because they already have their 50 shows booked. Maybe in 2017. WoO said no deal. Had enough with the last promoter. So Stateline is having a UFO race on July 21st paying ten grand to win. What drivers run that series?

I can hardly wait for the introduction of crate 4-cylinders and Mod Lites. Then tracks can roll out ten division programs.

Somewhere Jack Lentz is smiling. Fall Fest with lower weekly payouts. Don't forget the battery powered Barbie Corvette cruisers.

With crate engines so Vicki throws a fraction back into the track.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

I think some of these tracks think that they can run on kickback money alone, without any fans or drivers.  Sadly, I think it's the direction Gary is taking Lernerville.

We joke, but anyone with half a brain can see her strategy. The more divisions and tracks she can infect, the more sponsors she can get. Plus, potentially the more crate motors that are out there, the more money that Sweeney can potentially make, which now makes giving a couple of motors and some parts away look like a drop in the bucket to what they might make on the backend. With the money and sponsors and diverse tracks, series' and divisions comes power.

In my opinion, it's a dangerous road to go down. There's a reason she's being so aggresive, and helping the racer by keeping costs down, the RUSH corportate mantra, is all bullshit. This is all slick marketing and saying the right things at the right times for money, nothing less.

The rules and the tech is all window dressing. Tech of the c33 Sportsman at Lernerville at the end of the season was a staged event. It had nothing to do with the open motor guys complaining about McPhereson/Bentz cheating and everything to do with the illusion of Vikki Emigs'/ RUSH integrity. Whether the motor was illegal or not meant nothing. It was all about the act. "See we here at RUSH are serious about the integrity of our series, and we will tear down our crate poster boy and three time champion to show everyone that nobody is above the rules". What a bunch of bullshit. The only thing she is serious about is how many tens of thousands of dollars she can fleece out simpletons that buy what she is selling before they educate themselves.

No, of course not. But I'm tired of hearing what racetracks, sanctioning organizations or promoters are doing
to save racers money, when what they are really doing is using those reasons as vehicles to line their pockets.

What Emig is doing is more insidious because she is pushing a relatively new concept in racing in the hope
that if successful, it could make her good money without the risks of actually owning anything other than a
name. The risk is still shouldered primarily by the racers and to a lesser extent, the race track owners/promoters.

Aside from all of that, what's in it for the fans? Nothing. I mean, who pays to watch this shit other than maybe 10 percent of the front gate, i.e., the neighbors, family and friends of RUSH racers? Advacing racing? No, it's the mortgaging of the future of the sport for the short term profit primarily of one person, Vikki Emig. Some people in this region better wake up and ask themselves if this is really an organization they want to be affiliated with because I think it's nothing but a cancer for local racing.
