Has TSM made any improvements to the track during the off season anyone know? I know new clay needed added as they were down to rock again.

He said at PRI his job will be the same as it was before with WRG doing speedweeks and special events and managing lernerville.

Gary is great at track prep, but his management is going to ruin Lernerville. The more he deals in kickbacks and trying to be just like nascar, the more he is going to alienate drivers and fans. Vickie Emig and Hoosier aren't going to support a track without drivers to buy their stuff and Cochran expects eyeballs for their name. He and Gary Sr. did some good things at first, but now he is playing follow the leader behind failing business models.
My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Why not actually make improvements that benefit the drivers? Open tire rules. Allow the drivers to seek partnerships with tire manufacturers. Improve the racing surface for drivers. Cut admission prices for drivers. Possible increases to purses. All these things benefit drivers. Happy drivers means more drivers. More drivers means better drivers. Better drivers mean better races. Better races mean more fans. More fans mean more money. Spend money to make money. Fix some of them bleacher boards too. And change some personnel.

Yeah, well I'm sure you don't want to jeopardize whatever benefits you get from kissing Gary's ass, but his management of the track leaves much to be desired. There are many smarter and more qualified candidates out there that see Lernerville Speedway as more than just a job and a place to party.
Instead of worrying about kissing Miss Vikki's ass and her stupid traveling junk show, he should be worried about facility improvements and how to get more fans and competitors there. No, it's easier to make the bottom line look good by taking the sure money up front. I hope the Tomson's choose to go another way, because Gary Risch, Jr. is a turd.
BTW, his track maintenance has improved, but it is still spotty at times. Re-claying it would help.

I think Lernerville is the best run track west of Williams Grove and East of Attica.
There' are very few shows in the country that are better than the Firecracker.
The WoO and All Star shows are good and the Stampede is a good ending to the season.
So if Gary can run a successful track, party and have a good time more power to him.

Gary things he is a god. That's why a lot of people don't like him. Personally, I just don't appreciate the rush connection and him turning a deaf ear against many that wanted to round table and discuss issue's. Getting people to sit and talk period is a task. Old man time, that's who is going to determine this mess he is now creating.
Are you calling the crate sportsman the RUSH connection?
The RUSH LM and Mods come twice a year, I don't see your point.
Do the Steelers sit down with the fans and players to see how they want to run the team?
I don't think so.
What mess has he created?

Steelers sitting around at a table is a bad example to get your point across. Steelers are Pro"s getting paid big money. Now that being said, Lernerville is a top track thanks to Don. He set the track up to a high standard that everyone racer or fan was happy with. I"m a former driver at Lernerville i have seen a change in the track good and bad. I have talked to Gary a few times he seemed ok. maybe a little cocky at times. I for one do not like someone forcing me to buy their motor program. Again it was not broke, it worked for a lot of years. And Please don"t give this crap it"s the future. Crusty i don"t know if you are a fan or a driver i do respect your OP. Some people don:t like what Gary is doing including myself, but they are allowed their OP also. I have chosen to skip Lernerville this year after 45 years. Well anyways have a HAPPY NEW YEAR and be safe.

...and you aren't the only former track champion that won't be back, but this should pretty much lock up Corey's legacy, and it's kind of too bad for Corey too, because I don't see him needing the help. One of Gary's biggest flaws, and he has many, is his blatant favoritism, and not always for good drivers. He seems to think that clown shows like Kelly and Flinner fill the seats. I don't think he realized how many fans are there for good competitive, clean racing.

I'll tell you one name I'd throw out there if he wanted the job, Ed Ferree. He's already a very successful local businessman with long standing ties to the track. Who would be better than Ouch Roenigk, again if he wanted the job? Lynn Geisler? These are just a few of the names I came up with without really much thought. I'm sure there are dozens of others that care as much about Lernerville's legacy as they do about making money.

Just another dumb question.
Might there be enough salvageable wood or hard wood used in current seating, to more then cover the cost a metal dealer might find for metal replacement seats?
Could there be salvaged aluminum stadium seats maybe even with seat backs from somewhere in the country, which could be used to replace current seating and still make a profit from salvaged wood?
yep, dumb question?

Not speaking for jo73, but the stocks are one quarter of the regular Friday night shows, and a major, unheard of change was made to their division without any input from the drivers. Vikki Emig is RUSH, so yeah, her fingerprints are pretty much all over everything that was done. Why else do you think she was highly visible, clipboard in hand, when the C33 engine was tore down at the end of the season? The point being, she and Gary made the decision for the drivers, and that's just wrong, on every level. There isn't one swinging dick on this board or elsewhere that has yet to prove to anyone how this decision is beneficial to anyone other than Lernerville Speedway, Vikki and her minions.
