Just another dumb question.

Might there be enough salvageable wood or hard wood used in current seating, to more then cover the cost a metal dealer might find for metal replacement seats?

Could there be salvaged aluminum stadium seats maybe even with seat backs from somewhere in the country, which could be used to replace current seating and still make a profit from salvaged wood?

yep, dumb question?

I don't think that's really a terrible idea. Putting in used aluminum bleachers that require zero maintenance seems like the way to go if the purchase price is right.

Nothing like wood!!  Especially Lernerville, the wood there is about 4 times thicker than anywhere else!!

Here's some rough saw lumber prices:  https://hardwoodstor...m/lumber-prices

Do the math on what might be available to salvage and I think the Million dollar purchase price once mentioned on here could be easily recovered in salvaged wood alone.

I have another question.  When I sit in the stands the view has changed considerably because of tree growth beyond the backstretch.  How much land does the track have and could trees on track property be harvested, along with salvaged bleachers?  There's some huge trees in the parking lot that have to be worth something.

lol another question or statement.  I sure wish they would salvage the track clay built up over the years on the outside of the track wall.  Maybe the value of the dirt not needing to be shipped in could cover the cost of some gravel put down in front of the bleachers.  Here's a novel idea, how about running a walk way of asphalt down the front stretch in front of the bleachers?

I'll tell you one name I'd throw out there if he wanted the job, Ed Ferree. He's already a very successful local businessman with long standing ties to the track. Who would be better than Ouch Roenigk, again if he wanted the job? Lynn Geisler? These are just a few of the names I came up with without really much thought. I'm sure there are dozens of others that care as much about Lernerville's legacy as they do about making money.

All 3 are Great Guys, would any of them be as successful as Gary ?
These guys are getting older and I don't think they would want to put up with the BS.

Not speaking for jo73, but the stocks are one quarter of the regular Friday night shows, and a major, unheard of change was made to their division without any input from the drivers. Vikki Emig is RUSH, so yeah, her fingerprints are pretty much all over everything that was done. Why else do you think she was highly visible, clipboard in hand, when the C33 engine was tore down at the end of the season? The point being, she and Gary made the decision for the drivers, and that's just wrong, on every level. There isn't one swinging dick on this board or elsewhere that has yet to prove to anyone how this decision is beneficial to anyone other than Lernerville Speedway, Vikki and her minions.

I think with a big unpopular decision that was made it better have been beneficial for Lernerville. As far as RUSH being on hand for the engine tear down, they were paying out a points fund for the Crate engines this year.

I think Lernerville is going to do what they want to do not what RUSH wants to do. JMO

Jack Crawl That's the guy I believe would have been a good promotor. With Lernerville changing hands. I have always been surprised his name has never come out on top. I have been told he has submitted $$$ but the place has gone to a higher bidder. Rumors are like a holes we all have em so you never no if that one is true or not.

Aluminum has it's drawbacks. Even with the extruded ridges, it can be slippery. It is damn cold in inclement weather, no doubt about it.

Crusty. YOUR DAM RIGHT I AM. The sportsman guy's have to bench there motors and go out buy new 604's or used ones then have them rebuilt. They have to buy stamped tires. They have to buy FUEL. That is a FRIGGING ASS JOKE. You say the late models and mods come in twice a year. The crate lates is a good class I have said it 100,s of times. Those mods. Those guys love the cars. Are the sportsman guy's getting screwed. DAM RIGHT. They supported that place for years with probably the best car counts. They approached him numerous times to attempt to work something out. He has blatantly turned his back on the racers. Go ahead now take his side, right ?

Jo maybe you should run the place.
The LV Sportsman don't have to buy stamped tires or special fuel, the RUSH LM & mods do.
I'm not taking anyone's side I just see what I see and read what I read.

jo73, I understand what you are saying on the behalf of the sportsman class. They are getting the shaft BIG TIME. You have been around racing a long time, and you know there will be disagreements. As far as Gary goes he thinks he is right no matter what the racers think. His mindset is my or the highway.

Crusty1. The sportsman are forced to run on LM tires. and there was a recent rule change that forces them to by "RUSH Certified" fuel.

Therefore, they are basically stamped tires. And now the drivers are required to buy fuel from the RUSH series, instead of the same exact pump fuel you can find at a gas station. And you can guarantee the RUSH fuel with be at least a dollar more per gallon.

Wrong Rusty Nuts - The Sportsman at LV do NOT have to buy the RUSH SUNOCO FUEL, if they did it would be cheaper than the VP they sell at LV.
The LM tire rule is the same tire rule they had the last 3 to 4 years.
And the SUNOCO Fuel Rush will use is not the same that you buy at the pump.

The LM 10 is done, it's no longer made.
