Florida speed weeks is an aborarion , they were allowed to run any tire and to keep up you had to bolt new ones on every race. The tires stayed fast all the way to the cords. The rules were changed to only allow 2 compounds and they required the fronts be run all night and only allow 2 rears.

I found that the tire bill was the #3 expense.......Motor, Car/Suspension, Tires.......and that was taking a conservative approach to tire management and it was a big number for the season.....scary big....

I think now Golden Isles/East Bay are on the Lucas rule, and Screven/Volusia are UMP 20/40.
