well thats classic...... late model pro stocks. there you go. a new name.
Your Right !
Late Model Stocks or Pro Stocks
But save the name " Late model" for Passenger cars .. It represents a type of car that was ALMOST outlawed as being turned into a Race car!
Thats even better Walt for a sneaky Promoter
" Prototypes" Sounds really glitzy

In perhaps an related note, Roaring Knob announces they are going to run Sundays and Saturdays this year. Sundays will be Super Lates, Open E-Mods and Crate E - mods , Saturday Crate lates, stocks and 4 cylinders. Just reporting what was posted on their website.

Roaring Knob doesn't post results on FB page, it's a black hole of information. Hope Latrobe is good about getting the info out.

Want to know what the 2nd year of a crate headline show looks like, go to Lernerville any Wednesday night this summer.
My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Yeah I want to the race before the firecracker on that Wednesday night and it was a ghost town. There couldn't have been more than 20 people in the stands and those were probably the workers that just went to watch the race since they couldn't sell anything due to no crowd.
I would say almost exclusively family members of the drivers, plus one of the Stivasons.

Are you talking about crate 305 sprints and UTV's in the middle of a work week?? I wouldn't say that's a fair comparison to a crate late race on a Saturday with 20+ cars.

in all fairness it was a type of sprint car and those fans love sprint car divisions at lernerville...may be not wingless crates.

I believe that was the Rush wingless sprints that raced on Wednesday which I think FanJim was talking about. I talked to some people who went and they said they won"t be back on Wednesdays just regular Friday shows. In my OP the crate late models are fun to watch they also get some good car counts. Really it is up the race fan to watch what they like! To each their own.
