Great question, Vince!

Regardless of the outcome, I hope you get the continued support from all the local stock car teams, Greg and Chris included. Youre hard work should always be rewarded with a great event!

Im not going to elaborate, but this is the most ridiculous and misinformed post and responses Ive ever seen.

All Im going to say is that I am good friends with both Greg and Chris. I talk to each of them daily. There is no animosity between them. And the majority of the content that has been speculated here, isnt even close to the truth.

Is it not true that Greg is taking business away from Chris? Setup help, shock packages, fab work, etc?  They both do great work and there's nothing wrong with competitive business.  The consumer has the right to choose their vendor based on their own methodology.  Chris and Greg may very well respect each other, but if I were Chris, I wouldn't be real happy about the foregone work.

 

My point being, it would be interesting to see business competitors compete on the racetrack and observe resulting business affects.

Well Alan Dellinger is back in a stock car too and coyuld drive backwards at Sharon and beat those two guys with a 20 year old car !

 

Then why doesn't Alan do just that?  Heard there's a 10 grand race there this year, or something like that.  Sounds like easy money for a guy with said skill set.  Oh, and the ELM is the highest paying stock car race in history so while he's at it he should go there and scoop up that 4K payday as well.

So I think I speculated pretty good
As for them fighting each other
There was never talk of that

Greg is Banker Beach's nephew and started his career in go-karts and then to the Stocks at Lernerville where he won his share and was in the top five in points a number of years long before the crate engine cars came in there. Since then he has did some racing in Late Models, mostly crates, and even had an E-Mod for a short time.  He doesn't have any big money behind him, just hard work and a lot of mechanical and driving talent.

Well said Walt. Greg and Chris have been around a long time so they have nothing to prove they already have many times over. When getting your car from either Greg or Chris you can"t go wrong, and they will help you set it up so that alone is a WIN. Just how I see it.

pretty simple... Greg is one of the best stock car guys in the northeast who sells parts / services.  Chris is also one of the best stock car guys in the northeast who ALSO sells parts / services / builds stock cars.  I would like to see them race each other.  I have a HARD ON for COMPETITIVE RACING!  How about you worry about your own stick instead of mine buddy?

bobby whitling of franklin pa is also a car builder. that runs the penn/ohio series its the slider chassis.

I've had more a few conversations with Greg's engine builder/partner when he was running stocks, and I can attest to the money thing. Just because a guy has run a low-budget latemodel, especially a crate late, and then drops back to something that takes less money, doesn't mean he can't drive. It might mean he ran out of money and just wants to race. 

Deek Scott wound up in a street or pure stock later on in his racing "career." To put that in perspective, Deek was about a short step down from his dad and Wearing, and has beat Wearing in one of those races were the lead cars break away and race each other for multiple laps, and that's just the time I remember. He wasn't taking advantage of the "lesser drivers," he was running what he could afford. Greg Beach never reached that level. These guys just want to be in racing.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

The way I see it most racers past and present race for the love of the sport. Winning would nice but if they don"t win for the most part just putting the car on or in the trailer in one piece is a good night. Then you have the friendships you have made while racing that lasts a life time. I have friends from racing for over 40 years. To me that was the best times. It is all a Family affair. Just my OP. Hope they get some racing in this week end.

Alan is one of the best all around drivers ever from this area. He has won the old fall fest at challenger in the late model,e-mod, and led the whole stock feature untill the rear gear broke in the same night. He has won a ton of races at sharon,mercer,hickory and all over the region for that matter. He even ran a big block modified years back and won with it also. One of the nicest guy's you will talk to that  does not pat himself on the back. I do not know what car alan is driving,but you can bet he will be in the hunt.

Would be nice to have him at the ELM this year. He’s never raced in one. Hopefully $4017 changes his mind.
