TERRY WHEELER JR. CAPTURES VICTORY IN HOMAK PENN OHIO PRO STOCK SERIES “CREW CHIEF” RACE! SERIES WILL RETURN TO RACING ACTION ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 9 AT THUNDER MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY!
For Immediate Release
August 6, 2019 (Sandy Lake, PA) During a break from Series racing action, the Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Series sponsored a “Crew Chief” race at Sharon Speedway on Saturday, August 3rd. The fun race gave crew members an opportunity to strap in a stock car and experience racing as a driver.
Crew Chief of his dad, Terry’s # 2W and brother, Leigh’s # 717 machines, Terry Wheeler Jr. enjoyed racing the 2W to victory lane and picking up the $100 Homak Penn Ohio check and donated alcohol.
Out of 11 drivers signed up to participate, 7 made an appearance in the 8 lap event. Jon Davis, son of Paul Davis driver of #3 pro stock, led the field to green. Wheeler Jr. would take an early lead in his dad’s Slider Race Car and despite two restarts would hold on to the top spot. Davis secured the runner up spot until lap 7. Scott Hooks, brother of Shaun Hooks and crew member of the #65 race team, and Bobby Crisman, crew member of the Randy Wyant owned #11T, made passing moves on Davis and would finish in the 2nd and 3rd positions behind Wheeler Jr. Davis came home in 4th followed by Mike Hilla, driving the Jimmy Fosnaught #20J. Sixth place finisher was Daniel Diegelman, crew member of the Darr Diegelman #15*. Rounding out the field was female driver, Stevie Harry in the Curt Bish owned #00.
