I agree There was quite a few surprises that nobody thought would be there so that is how they wound up with a handful more cars.

37 cars is right in line with what the big sanctioned races are getting nowadays!!   Raceway 7 had 32 on Friday night and 46 for the Firecracker weekend at Lernerville. And only 27 for Stateline's WoO  show!!  Many area tracks aren't even getting 30 for regional sanctioned shows or unsanctioned bigger races.  Just goes to show the sad state of dirt track Late Model racing is!!!   The class is pricing themselves out of business!!

GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!

Walt

I was surprised at the amount of regional cars that showed up. I was one that didn't believe they'd get much more than a starting field with the amount of quality cars lucas has following the tour.

It was reported the place had a good crowd. Good for them, they seemed to turn it around by dropping the late models and bringing in the crates on a almost weekly schedule. I would drop the sanctioned crap and see if they could do it on there own.

Be interesting to see the lucas schedule for next year.

National & Regional Sanctioning is not crap....   With their larger marketing area/audience, they can pay larger purses, better tech, etc...  Keystone Cup paid $15K and only got 29 cars in central PA...   Raceway 7 got 32 with no weekly cars to count on...   Must have been a coincidence...

The WoO Late Models were racing at 411 Speedway in Tennesse Saturday night, however, Kid Rocket was at Pittsburgh in the #14 which he has run all season on the Lucas Oil Tour.

The crowd was large at Pittsburgh, not completely full, but a very big crowd.  There were no Late Models to be had the last few years, and the attendance at PPMS was not any better when the Late Models were still racing on a weekly basis.  I miss the Late Models, too, but the variety of racing management brings to Pittsburgh, such as the Ed Laboon Memorial, Willie White Memorial, Jook George Memorial, 410 Sprint Cars, Boss Sprints, etc., plus the excellent weekly Rush Late Model racing (and the other weekly divisions) keeps me coming back.
