Still on the schedule, but a decision will have to be made pretty quickly.

Two weeks from tonight is the Firecracker. Looking at schedules for both series the only weekend I see open for the track the Outlaws and the Lucas series is September 10th thru the 12th bit the track would have to cancel or move the bus race for the 12th. That is quite a long ways from now. This weekend might be a good idea if there isany thoughts of rescheduling the event. That way all the Governor's BS should be over with and the Lucas guys have a chance to come. I havent missed a Firecracker yet. Here's hoping this year wont be the first. I wish someone from the track or the series would make an announcement soon. That way people know what the hell is going on.

I agree. IF they wait any longer you are going to have a lot of furious people who wasted vacation days for nothing and hotels.

There all sitting there with calendars in front of them trying to figure out what to do. I would not want to be in there positions. Then you have the crate folks saying look at us we can do it. No matter what lernerville does, without having that open date to bring some lucas drivers in people are not going to be happy. 2020 firecracker winner. Covid 19.

I messaged the track yesterday and they said that they're still on hold.  Said that they would make an announcement once a decision is made.

I know people are trying to be patient and their vacation days hinge on this, but you guys need to understand that the tracks and sanctioning bodies are doing their best to make sure things are set in stone before they make an announcement. Look at whats happening with Attica this week. They got the green light from the state, made an announcement that fans were allowed, and then got shut down by the county. Now people are crushing them on social like it was some sort of scheme to hurt peoples feelings. Everyone is doing the best they can with rules that are literally being changed every day.

I realize the above is a bit rambling. Condensed version, nobody wants to announce its still on to only get shut down a day or two later because people will lose their minds. They also dont want to postpone early only for things to relax and be ok, because people will lose their minds. These tracks are trying, but in reality they cant win right now

Damned if they do and damned if the don't!!!!   Race tracks all over the country are at their wits end trying to figure out what to do.  Local weekly racing has a 70 year history, but the tracks have never had to deal with anything like this before!!!

Hopefully some GOOD RACING!!!!

Walt

Large gatherings of more than 250 people are prohibited. It's a bunch of bullshit.

I think your going to see some tracks just say will see you next year. The aggravation of dealing with state, local and county officials could tie there hands.

I'm not going to pay for a subscription to an app to watch the races. This stuff is a bunch of BS. I was at thunder mountain last night and they were totally packed. Every other track is opening around them and they are just sitting back on their thumbs waiting for our useless governor to open everything. I wonder if they understand how many fans are pissed about this crap. If they can't get Their act together I can find another track to go to on fridays

Everyone needs to respect the tracks reasons. We had not seen anything like this ever before. I agree without racing with no fans, just isnt right. Not for the teams or the track. But if your going to run the Firecracker, then open the track!

Its pretty easy to tell a business how to operate when you have exactly no dollars invested. Take the gigantic financial risk that owning a race track is and then tell everyone how simple it is.
