Well as long as they dont go 11 straight days without rain in 90 degree temps in the driest summer since 2011 or they dont get 2.4 inches of rain the morning of the Pittsburgher Im pretty confident they will be fine.

They need to bring in Dan from lernerville. that guy has had the best track surface all yr by far from any local track.

Rumor is he has already been out there. It is what it is given their type of clay (hillside dirt) and equipment.

Ive also been told they are going to add clay after the Pittsburgher so theyre kinda doing their best until then.

I'm curious, for a half mile track, how many FULL loads would it take it cover the track.

Lot of equipment, grader or dozer of some sort and at least a backhoe. Then the labor in adding clay to a surface. I just don't get it. That's a big investment.

I believe they did it a couple years ago and had help from Ron Hall and Tim Shaffer.  I don't know if they volunteered to do it or what.  Earlier this year they had some racers there working on the walls and such also.  People are willing to help, they just have to swallow their pride and accept it!

Well least you can laugh at your own rambling incoherent joke? But a sheeps foot packs the soil down way to tight to where no moisture can get down into the soil deep enough.

I guess that is why they are always using it and it gets so dam dry.

Maybe they should do what some other tracks do, use disks like the farmers use in fields. It was explained on how it works in a write up i saw some time ago. Step 1 water track mid morning. Step 2 run disks around track. Step 3 run track in early afternoon. If track needs it again repeat step 123. Don't really know if this would work for PPMS.

I'm no farmer but I dont think you can disc rocks??

The biggest problem after watering a track is when do you stop running/packing it back in. You use up the moisture packing it to tight you get dust. It really is the cause, but it's a science as to when do you stop.
