#451362 Charlotte tickets must be renewed by January 31, 2022 or you can loose them

Posted by spike on 23 November 2021 - 10:38 PM

The only mention of the cost for next year that I have seen is a deposit of $139.  This year's cost was $90.  Whatever happened to the days when you were told in advance the cost, not a deposit amount , but the final cost.  I'm retired and live 50 miles from the track.  Don't need any days off work.   Don't need a motel room or camping spot.  Have been to all the finals except 2020.  Other factors will determine my attendance next year.  If it just affected me, the thought of another year of dust and cold at such an increase would keep me on the porch.

#449170 Chiller Thriller

Posted by spike on 01 April 2021 - 08:29 PM

I think people are more upset that promoters don't put much work into getting a surface prepared anymore nowadays.grade it on Monday dump some water on it Saturday in go racing seems to be the norm now.

If we could just get all these track preparation experts to offer their expertise before the races instead of after the races.

They whine about no races and when there are races, they whine about everything at the races.  Whiners should have to pay more.

#446019 VOTE COAL RACING

Posted by spike on 02 December 2019 - 05:35 PM

You know the only thing I want to know is how much money is being spent on this effort and what is the return on investment.........you know this is our tax money being spent without any justification..........

For sure.  Not only are we paying for the wall the Mexicans didn't but now we have to pay for Rudy running all around the world looking for corruption.  You would think he could find some corruption closer than the Ukraine.

Wow, that must be(according to one bh) the largest fade in the history of auto racing since the beginning of time and possibly even before.

#442020 Legend lost.

Posted by spike on 17 March 2019 - 07:34 PM

Remember the first time I saw him race was at Butler Speedway in the black and gold # 7 Dick Neely Jolly Cholly Chevy.  When those orange flames shot out those long tailpipes, I knew I was a sprint car fan.  He was also the first driver I ever bought a photo of and still have it.  Only ever gave names to two of my street vehicles, and the first was  " Dale ".  He was a gentleman on and off the track.  May he rest in peace.

#439772 Mercer sold

Speed Buggy wins this feature.   He was correct in use of you are dumb.  Then 94.3 Radracer came along and used the second person possessive adjective your when he should have been using you're, the contraction for you are.  Counts as two spins so Radracer is scored as DNF.

#435803 Sweeney RUSH Sprints release 2018 schedule; 23 confirmed Bonnell's Rod Sh...

Posted by spike on 26 December 2017 - 04:09 PM

Always liked the original Racesaver idea.  Winner receives no more than twice the to start amount.  $125 to start pays $250 to win.  $500 to win means $250 to start.  The winner is still the winner.  He has the biggest smile.  But the person who had to buy the same motor, the same tires, the same shocks and the same fuel smiles more at $250 than at $125.

#419554 Very interesting article worth the read.
