I think it is considered a lap once the leader passes the flagstand. I wasn't there cause I had to work. I am really just taking a guess as to what might have happened.

Okay, I may be mistaken about that. You're probably right. But, I'm not the only one that thinks a full lap wasn't made. And I'm not attacking the flagman. There are a lot of things going on, and it can be hard to keep it all straight, but there are also a lot of people watching too, scorers, officials, etc. It just seems lately that the rules aren't being applied evenly across the board. If the points leader tries to come back on, seems like he gets to. Let's just be fair to all and keep some dignity and respect going. It's good for the fans, racers, and the sport.

I know you are proably just saying why didnt the flagman let him race.It was proably a call by a official. But dont they keep the gate closed to the track why was he let back on the track then. Ive never been down by the gate during a race but isnt it closed and has to be opened by a track worker?

Yep, the gate has to be opened by a worker, and he isn't going to open it unless he knows it's okay. So what happened?

Wow, wasn't sure what the response would be when I threw out the 'passing points' idea, kinda thought a lot of whining and name calling would pop up. But, it's great to see so many good ideas come from it. One thing I do notice, a lot of people think Limaland and the NRA's way of doing things need to change. This is why I put this out there, to see what others thought. Yes, it can be a little confusing, especially for the fans in the stands. They'll get used to it. Some are not liking the idea. Maybe the ones that get to start up front all the time? I don't know. I know this, if they are leading the points, and pull the "Death Pill" 3 weeks in a row, (#75) and start at the tail of the 2nd or 3rd heat, what happens to their points lead? GONE!!! Now they maybe change their mind? Yes, it's not simple, it's confusing until you get the hang of it. Yes, inverting 12 is a punishment. I've seen Fremont do something that is good for the sport and gets the fans involved. Their top 8 go to the front stretch. 8 kids are picked out of the stands and pick a driver. Out comes the Crown Royal bag with 8 pills, the kids pick the pill for their driver and TA-DA, you have your first 8 starting positions. So if you're on the pole, you have a 1 in 8 chance of keeping it. And, if their driver wins, the kid gets to come out and have their picture taken with their winning driver. Now, some will say, Screw that, it takes too much time. Or, Screw the fans, I have too much to do to get ready. Here's a little tidbit, THE FANS PAY THE PURSE. AHHH,MONEY, now I'm speaking the right language. Yep, get the fans involved, more show up, purses go up, win-win. And, if you get stuck in the back of the heats a few times, you get a better chance of being in the money with the Passing Points system. Now listen up, they do this at a lot of tracks in Michigan, and it works well for all. THIS IS OHIO, are we gonna let Michigan out do us????? Hell No!!! This track is owned and ran by a University in OHIO!!! Are you gonna tell me that tracks in michigan are smarter????? Please. Thanks for all the input and replies. I just hope the right people are paying attention.

Wanna know why Limaland doesnt get the car counts anymore with the mods and stocks? Last night the 36 mod (not sure who was driving it) he came down hit the 38 who then hit post and sherman then hit post which ended Shermans heat race. They hook Sherman up to the wrecker and instantly take him to his trailer so they can start making repairs, they always make you stay in the infield until your heat race is over. Then on top of that the 36 car gets hooked up to the wrecker and not only did they not take him to his trailer right away but they made him stay in the infield for the rest of his heat race and the heat race after his before they took him back to let him make repairs.

Another thing Horstman not being aloud to restart was horse crap, they never completed a lap after horstmans wreck, when they took the green flag blair hit the back stretch wall on the green flag lap and wrecked in turn 3, Horstman tries to come back on the track and they tell him NO! and then announce that they had 3 laps in, last night the feature was only 23 laps because they added 2 mystery laps between the horstman and blair wrecks. Once again screwing another driver out of a better finishing spot.

And the last thing, and i think most of you would agree, THAT FLAGMAN IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED!!!!!!!!!!!!! plain and simple

Hey, I'm new to this, so if I mess up, don't spin me out. Witness 24, I agree with you about 1 thing I know about, THEY screwed #17 (Horstman) big time. I mean, we're all racers here, more or less, and we all know a lap doesnt count unless the last car passes the flagstand, period. So, WTF? Do getting the fans out of the stands as soon as possible take precedence over fair play? Now I know that alot of people will complain about this, bet before you do, think about if this was your FAVORITE driver this was happening to. I'm just talking about being fair to ALL drivers, that's all, FAIR.
