passing points

Okay, let's go into a 'new' way of thinking. As a lifelong sprintcar fan, I've noticed a few things. First, at Limaland, the competition is TOUGH!!!! All the cars seem to be VERY close in their set-ups and ability to get around the track. With that said, how about we change it up a little bit. The 'PILL" is the real contributing factor in the season champion. Generally, if you start up front in a heat race, you finish up front. If you start in the back, you go to the 'B'. I don't think anyone will argue with that. And if you want to, ask Sauder, Shroeder, Hannigan, Allison, etc. if they would want to race every week if they had to start at the tail all the time. This is a real possibility if the luck of the "Pill" demands they do. How about if we dump the current system and go with one that actually rewards good drivers rather than just the ones that get to start up front. Now I understand the those that have been starting up front all the time will have a problem with this. But what if they have to start 9th, and only make it up to 5th. 4 passing points could be the factor to be in the top 8, and have a real chance in the feature. Every driver wants to have a chance to be there at the checkered flag, and I think this would give every driver a REAL chance at that. Any comments?
Flagger discrepancy

Okay, what happened last weekend? A red flag went up, a couple cars went off, and the #17 car came back on the track, but wasn't allowed to run. I've been a sprint fan for quite a while and so I checked out the NRA rules. They state that a car can come back into the race as long as a full lap hasn't been run. I was there, a full lap didn't happen. As all you racers know, a full lap doesn't happen unless the last place car makes it across the finish line. Try as they did, a full lap didn't happen, so why not let the #17 run? And before all you haters get fired up, I'm just saying #17 as an example. What if it was the #6, #20, #7, or any other car that you like? This can happen to any car, if it isn't applied fairly. So why did the flagman say he couldn't run?
