UPDATE--REVOLUTION Super Late Model Series

22 March 2016 - 11:44 AM

Hey everyone,

So as an official update on the series, here is where we are..

We got a very late start, truthfully probably 6 or 7 months late in scheduling for 2016. At that point, very little was known about either the UFO Series or the AMRA STARS Series schedules for 2016.

Both of those series have made great strides in scheduling and have excellent schedules now and I seen no room (or reason) to dilute the season with the REVOLUTION Super Late Model Series.

We did not attempt to put this deal together for any reason other than to fill a void in regional super late model competition. That is no longer the case. Both are good series and provide both the regional racers and fans with good paying, quality dirt track racing.

We will continue to look for opportunities for 2017 to fill a void, if we see one and attempt to fill it with some racing value. Perhaps maybe a 4 or 5 race mini series or something to that affect.

Anyway, I just wanted to update and let you all know what is going on. I appreciate the hundreds of people who have given me their time, attention and opinions of what we can do to improve the quality of dirt track racing while hoping to curb the expenses involved. I wasn't doing this for an ego boost or prove a point or anything like that so I have no problem at all stepping back.

Both the ULMS and UFo Series guys and AMRA/STARS guys, while I don't know them well,I do know they have worked very hard to put these deals together,so I encourage you to support them when you can.

Thanks everyone and I will update on 2017 when necessary.

Thanks,

Jimmy Henry

Penalties For Tire Tampering - REVOLUTION Super Late Model Series

22 January 2016 - 11:34 AM

Policing tires are going to be the backbone of this series.
Make no mistake, we are very serious about tire tampering and this series will only be as good as its teching.

Racers, since this is YOUR series, what are appropriate penalties for tire rules infractions?

Thanks,

Jimmy Henry

"Came Up Short Award"Sponsored by #1 Touchdown City Powersports

18 January 2016 - 12:48 PM

The REVOLUTION Super Late Model Series is proud to announce the "Came Up Short Award", a $100 cash award to given at each series event to the driver

who towed the farthest but came up short in qualifying for the main event.

This is an effort to help with the ever-increasing cost of travel to racing events.

Thanks to #1 Touchdown City Powersports in Morgantown, WV for their generosity and support of the series.

Yeah, sometimes not qualifying kinda feels like that, right?  :)

REVOLUTION Super Late Model Series Spec Tire Rule for 2016

14 January 2016 - 04:14 PM

I truly appreciate all conversations, both public and private...both public and confidential.

I am trying hard to build a brand that saves you racers ALOT of unnecessary spending on tires,

improves the entertainment for the race fan and actually gives the lower budget race teams a real opportunity to be competitive in good paying events.

Quality of entertainment is very important. Like it or not, dirt racing is in the entertainment business and spectators have alot of options as to where they spend their hard-earned entertainment dollar. We have to also keep that in mind.

So,after talk, debate, talk and more talk, this is your REVOLUTION Super Late Model Series spec tire rules:

Hoosier 1600 right rear only

Hoosier 1425 all other corners

American Racer 56 right rear only

American Racer 48 all other corners.

I believe this will save racers alot of money throughout the year. After 2016, we,as a series community comprising car owners, racers and promoters, will re-evaluate this rule this winter and see where,if anywhere, changes should be made.

Racers, if this series is something you would like to support, you need to call your promoters. It is always difficult to get a new series rolling but when they hear from you,it carries weight.

Thanks,

Jimmy Henry

REVOLUTION Super Late Model Series--Racers, We Need You To Speak Up!

12 January 2016 - 07:47 PM

So,you know our 1600 right rear, 1325 tire rule.

You've seen our proposed point fund and series purses.

Promoters are now asking me what drivers can we expect if we sign on for a race or 2?

IF YOU LIKE THIS CONCEPT CAR OWNERS AND DRIVERS, THE PROMOTERS NEED TO KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

Can get some drivers to speak up who are interested in running this series, please?

Thanks,

Jimmy Henry
