I really enjoyed that race and the speeds.

Fastest I think I have ever seen Lernerville. Lap 25 in the feature Gravel turned a 12.4 his quick time was a 12.4... May not have been side by side racing but I really enjoyed how fast those cars were going.

I'm not a BShep fan nor am I a Max Blair fan.

I pose these questions to all you intelligent folk.

Was Max supposed to cut hard right and give up 2nd place to avoid contacting BShep? Was Max supposed to stab the brakes and let Cade Dillard pass him on the outside? If BShep doesn't hit the berm and slow up are we even talking about this? If you were driving Max's car and had a shot to win do you do the same thing?

Sure Max is going to say he got into him and feels bad about it, they run Rocket cars and need to maintain a good relationship. Sure BShep's going to be mad he missed out on $6k and got $600 instead and lost points.

Just because someone has an opinion different than yours doesn't make them wrong and doesn't make them a fan of the driver they defend.

I agree with Abe that it is on BShep. BShep caught the inside berm flexing the nose of the car and kicking up dirt which caused him to slow down and Max got into him.  Racing deal. Great way to open Firecracker Weekend.

We got a grant for all new bleachers for the park my son plays baseball at.

I would think sweat and dirt would break down and deteriorate helmet pads and materials.

How many cars that race either of those tracks consistently ran Lenerville prior?

I think in Supers it comes down to you have guys spending 100's of thousands of dollars to race for a bag of chips and a tea, when you compare it to the money spent to win it. That has driven the Weekend Warriors away.

I feel this hit our area the most with the introduction of the XR1 that's when I remember guys talking about the cost to compete the most. Obviously it's been going on longer but I know we have had some serious discussion around what to do. You basically have to upgrade or get out.

There are guys that have more money in the shock package they run then some guys spend on there whole car. Then you add in a 50k motor with a 40k rolling chassis. Knocks the peg way down on who can afford to compete and win.

You can't even say well then run a crate because you have guys buying the same stuff as a guy in a Super is buying and then taking the "crate" motor to someone to get it spec'd out with the best parts money can buy.

Look at the stuff big teams are doing just to create speed. The Weekend Warrior can't afford data aquistion, pull down rigs, testing etc. All this trickles down then, but at a cost.

Then you have a track that advertises one thing such as increased purse and then change it or just straight up cancel your division 2 days before the race. All these things negatively impact the smaller teams and gives them one more blow to absorb. Well funded teams can shrug it off easier.

I get it you can't tell people how to spend the money they have but $100k race cars aren't helping car counts. Not many people can finish last weekly laugh it off and say they had fun.

I'm all in for anything that makes the sport safer.

I can't stand when I hear someone says.... " at least he died doing what he loved" ...when a driver dies in competition.

NO ONE does this with the intent to die doing it!

 

I never want to see anyone get hurt let alone die.  

 

I also am all for the safety rules and have personally put up my own money to make sure our driver has certain expensive safety items.

 

However, when a driver straps in they assume the risk which is injury and potentially god forbid it death.  No matter how hard that is to swallow that is the truth.

Was RUSH their all night or did they roll in during the feature? Just curious why you race if you know you have something on you shouldn't? Save your reputation and load up with a mechanical failure.
