Went to Fremont for a rain out make up race tonight. Around here street stocks and trucks are popular support divisions. So they threw the several rule books in blender and came up with a package end of the year series, so everyone can run. Well they were all fairly equal, and with all the banging and beating one can assume everyone has new cars on order for next season.
But prior to the event, they passed out 8x10 checkered flags and people in the stands stood at the front stretch wall, those in the pits on the inside straightaway. Then the hurst carrying Art Ball's body made a lap. He passed the other day. You probably never heard of Art. He ran a street stock for 50+ years, he ran up front and won 300+ features, and did it without traveling all over, he stayed close to home. His blue 01 cars weren't pretty, but they ran good. I was there when Art won a feature on his 75 birthday, and that was 10 years ago. Ya know it ain't the big names that make racing so special, it's guys like Art Ball.

Just want to spread the word to those that enjoy racing, but have had to park their rides for whatever reason. Consider vintage events. It doesn't matter if ya got an old street stock or a sprint car, you can bring it out and turn some laps. Here is a link if you want more info.

ie: "If you got lateral acceleration which directly relates to speed and grip involved in lifting the left rear corner, wouldn't it leave more effort available for forward acceleration?
I'm also thinking if you used lateral acceleration to lift the chassis the amount of lift would also then directly relate to available grip and speed."
Ds2, Have you not just entered the pan-hard bar into the equation? Geeezz, this racecar setup stuff was easy til you showed up!

#445298 Shorter wheelbase question

"Why not start on the left at the minimum and then move the right side back a little"
I missed the jist of your question in my reply above so I'll give it a guess here.
My guess is with the tightness of turns in general if you had a choice you'd probably shorten both sides.
However you must keep in mind that the Tiffin valve needs readjustment or it will bump the Fostoria function. Nullifying the wheelbase quotient

#443156 Late Model setup question after watching last night at Stateline

No problem Dirt Student, just having some fun, you are a good sport about it. Sprint cars have a solid front axle so they can't work like a late model. A rule of thumb is the RR gets you in the corner and the LR drives you out. How you want your car to get around the track is the reason there are endless methods to get it done. It is easier to adjust yourself out of shape than into it.

If something is the official product of a series, I would assume it merely means that some additional point funds money is available, should I use and endorse that product. Being the official product isn't the same as being mandatory to use. As an example, I would assume tires would be the most common mandatory product in racing.

Gee fellas, sorry this deal has grown legs of its own an has ran adrift from the simple point I wanted to make. If I really wanted to start a argument on here I would claim that brand "WTF" engine oil was the best oil for you engine.
