Martin, Hersh, Young and Zufall Reopen Dog Hollow Speedway With Victories

Strongstown, PA (Friday, May 14, 2021) - After two weeks of rainouts, Dog Hollow Speedway was able to kick off the 2021 season in fine style. Clinton Hersh, of Somerset , picked up his career first Mission Critical Solutions Super Late Model feature. Punxsutawney s Joe Martin returned to victory lane in the Townsend Gas & Oil RUSH Late Models. In the Texas Auto Ranch 4 Cylinders it was Cody Young from McIntyre in the winners circle while Mt. Pleasant s Jeremy Zufall won for the first time in the AMSOIL RUSH Stock Cars.

Ryan Frazee led the first two laps of the 20-lap Townsend Gas & Oil RUSH Late Model feature. Frazee was over powered by 22 time division winner Joe Martin. Michael Duritsky took up chase next. The two drivers pulled away from the field setting a blistering pace. Martin went on to win in the class for the 23rd time in his career. Duritsky was second followed by Kyle Smith, Jr., Joe Moyer, Noah Brunell, Colin Casale, Tim Snare, Rob Coffaro, Devin Brannon and Rudy Bassaro. Heats were won by Joe Moyer and Ryan Frazee.

Up next it was the 25-lap Mission Critical Solutions Super Late Model feature. Clinton Hersh jumped out front at the drop of the green with Dave Blazavich taking up chase. Blazavich led lap three before Hersh reclaimed the top spot. The pair of Ford powered machines ran side-by-side for a few laps before Hersh, in the #119 ride, began to pull away and claim his career first Super Late Model victory. Hersh has one victory at the track in the Rush Late Models back in 2016. Blazavich held on to the second spot over Billy Eash, Joe Petyak, Dylan Lewis, Clate Copeman, Bryan Benton, Joe Moyer, Ryan Christoff and Mike Laughard. Eash and Hersh were heat winners.

In the 12-lap Texas Auto Ranch 4 Cylinder main event it was Cody Young taking his first feature win at the track. Young and Rusty Garlock started on the front row and put on a battle. Young was out front the first five laps before Garlock led the next two, Young came back and led the final laps to claim the win. Following Young and Garlock at the checker were Noah Swank, Ashton Daughenbaugh, Matt Knight, Dustin Gibbons, Mike Phillipson, Jason Ritenour, Brandon Pearce and Jacob Botteicher. Claiming the heat wins were Garlock, Young and Pat Brehm.

The final feature of the night belonged to the new AMSOIL RUSH Stock Car class. This is a 602 crate engine class. Jeremy Zufall made his return to racing a successful one as he lead all 15 laps to take the win. Tanner Ramsey was second over Bob Torquato. Zufall won the lone heat.

#441592 Is the old Gamblers/AMP track opening?

Posted by suhoney18 on 05 February 2019 - 10:29 PM

We will see what happens... They posted they needed everything for the concession stands... But they also posted today on Facebook they were at the track going over the grandstands and working already... In the pictures the track does look rough so I do agree it will definitely be a long road but I know if they build it back up I will be there weekly as a fan

Sounds like the potts family gave the new owners the shaft hard from what's being said

#437906 Marion center Speedway???

Posted by suhoney18 on 02 June 2018 - 09:47 AM

On a side note, the rumor mill around Hidden Valley/Gamblers/Amp has begun again.  Speculation that someone either bought the track or is interested in buying it.

This would be amazing if theres any truth whatsoever to it... Gotta wonder what kinda shape it's in though

#434010 Clearfield 1/2 mile sold?

Mixed emotions...Cool to see someone buy it but sucks they didn't buy it with any real purpose of having oval races...
