no they are not and if they are its a guarded secret. the bummer about this for the racers to be able to see how you stack up in the long run last year randy crosley did not win a race in the trucks but did very well in points because he finishes races and is consistant. plus next year when your trying to get sponsers it helps and they probably could get someone to volunteer to do it

I agree that the points need to be done. Point standings are very important. Some drivers use that to show their progress to the sponsors. There are driver development programs out there, and point standings are very important when making application to those. I keep stats for Jessica, and along with that, I keep track of everyone's finish position in the trucks. If someone would show me how they figure points at Waynesfield, I could keep the points for the trucks.

I would say that that comment was a little out of the guidlines for race stud. We are talking about points not about what u think of someone elses driving.

I believe this was a nice jester for someone to volunteer their time to at least help out the trucks so they could see wear they stand point wise. We can all see wear you stand "dirt FOOL" and understand wear your user-name cames from.

i think if you would do that you would be MOST of the truck racers hero and if you ask the track for the points formula and do the points stats if track officials would not help you it would not appear that they dont understand the importance of this to thier weekly racers . i hope they help you it would be positive thing

I would be willing to do the points for the mini sprints. If we get someone from each class and the formula from the track we could send them the points standing and all they have to do is post them. I would think they would have the results of the races ran so far. The point system helps in alot of different ways several of which have already been mentioned so far.

You can go back thru my posts on here each week to get the feature finishing order. I also have all of the paperwork the track gives me each week. However....I wouldn't consider my listings as "official." I try to get the heat winners each week when possible but those are unofficially given to me by a pit stewart. I haven't gotten any complaints but I'm sure he is not in the best position to tell who wins a heat or b-main that has a close finish. I'm not sure if some or most tracks award points to heat race winners.

I think you might just have to put them on race stud because it seems as if they dont wont to update the website to often. But still no points for mods or the other kinds of sprints or isnt there one kind that runs enough to be for points?

I emailed the track last night requesting the info on how they figure points. Haven't heard from them yet, but it was late when I sent it. Skinnykenny: can you get that info for us?

Totally uncalled for. This girl is one of the nicest people to talk to and she's just like any other racer....she takes the track to win. She always raced me clean when she could see that I was around.

As for points they used to figure them two different ways.

1st method:

1st = 75 points
2nd= 70 points
3rd= 65 points
4th = 60 points
5th= 55 points
6th= 50 points
7th= 45 points
8th= 40 points
9th= 35 points
10th= 30 points
11th= 25 points
12th= 20 points
13th= 15 points
14th= 10 points
15th= 5 points
16-20 = 5 points

They would award 50 "show up" points if you took at least one competition green flag lap.

This was the easiest method to scoring points.

Now last year they had a weird method that made no sense and well.......obviously it didn;t mean anythig as nobody received any recognition....lol

anyway it was:

1= 75
2= 70
3= 65
4= 62
5= 59
6= 56
7= 53
8= 50
9= 47
10= 44
11= 42
12= 40
13= 38
14= 36
15= 34
16= 32
17= 30
18= 28
19= 26
20= 24

This system really sucked to keep track of and made no sense.

I would like to see bonus points for winning heat races also used with the first plan. What really left a sour taste in everyones mouth last year was that the year before we all decided to raise the pit price to $21 and the extra dollar went into a point fund. At the end of the year Greg and his crew threw a nice banquet that was appreciated by everyone!!!

Then last year they raised the price to $25 and there was no banquet or awards.

I'm sure Greg isn't going to promise you all anything that he can't hold. He stands behind his word and is a really good guy!!

The way Eldora scores points is plain and simple. They start 22 cars in the A Main. It works very well and makes for a tight points race, which makes it exciting for sponsors and fans. The winner of the A main gets 40 points. Then the 2nd place finisher gets 38 points. From there on down you get one less point. Example 3rd=37, 4th=36 and so on. Positions 20,21,22 get 20 points. All other drivers that are there but not making the A get 15 points. It has worked well over the past few years. They did change the points for the bottom two to the 20 points this year. Last year it just dropped one point per position from second on down with the 22nd place guy getting18 points. I guess they thought that was to close to the 15 points for those not making the race and decided to up the last two positions to the 20 points. No points for heat races or B mains. Plain and simple, but, does the job very well.

I would even consider doing points for the other classes if we can get the formula that they want to use. SkinnyKenny I'll look for you at the track Sat. and see if you had any luck with getting anything from them. We just don't need a bunch a people doing points but if if we can get one for each class that would be great. If for nothing else we would at least see how everybody stacks up against those that they run with.

Thanks Ogre for the info. Unless someone has a problem with it, I'm going to figure the truck points using the method they used last year. I'm not going to figure anything for heats, b-mains, bonus, etc. Just going to figure straight points for the feature positions. Will post the points here on racestuds as soon as I get them done.

I emailed the track two weeks ago about the points and it took a week for the Shobes to simply reply "not doing points". I appreciate the offer for you to keep the points its very nice of you. I don't care because of the sponsor deal but I think its even nice for the fans to hear the run down every week.
