Well said roger ,it seems like most of the complaints are coming from this class. Like you said i dont think they would make nice yard ornaments. Seems like every one is always looking for a edge in their car or truck and pushing the limits. Some call it being creative others would say they are cheating. Maybe its not legal, maybe its the driver, maybe its the set up. That or maybe just doing your home work. What ever dont loose a good low budget class. You have a week to get your home work done. Good luck to all. This class is growing every week. Seems like the flag pole with the strobe lite got all this started just by posting some results. trouble maker Kenny. Stay out of the wind Kenny that flag pole might bend.

This is racing people. It doesnt matter what class is running, you will always have a few guys that stand out every week. I am suprised that we haven't heard that Jon Henry is cheating seeing how he has 10 wins this year in his mod. (Before this gets turned around, I am making no implication that Jon is cheating) This is probably the closest the trucks have ever been and people are still complaining. I have yet to see the 33 pull away from the field. I would say there are at least 10 trucks that run well week in and week out and knowing from experience all of them are tough to pass if you start toward the rear.

IN AN EFFORT TO KEEP THIS CLASS AT A LOW BUDGET ENTRY LEVEL – a $400 motor claimer will be in effect. Participants must be in same race to claim and trade motors
That is straight from the WMSP webpage and is all it says, but the at the top of the page it says rules for 2007 and there was a set of rules at the spring swap meet and then I believe another set after that then the website so you have to figure out which one to go buy. I agree that claming motors is a good way to make some hard feelings and it has never worked in any stock class that I have been in so it would not make alot of difference. I understand why it is being talked about and its not because of anyone being nasty or not liking someone because they win, it has alot more to do with in the previous seasons many were told they could not run certain parts but then somebody else had twice the equipment so where was the fairness in that so alot of drivers spent there money on good reliable parts to stay in the rules and make a motor last for awhile but give up some performance. I know for a fact I pushed the rules as much as anyone, and I have done that in other calasses as well, I was even told not to come back to the Big E with my stock car, so I understand why people go to the extremes but all that is happening is running the class out of a place to run.How long do you think a prometer or owner is goin to listen to the moans before he says see ya. I dont have a clue what the answer is but we had better figure it out before we have some pretty yard ornaments. I am not sure about anyone else but I am hoping that some things work out and next year I will be out there every week [pushing the rules to the limit]. I have nothing against any of the Hicks but alot of people would like to see somebody else get there picture taken by the bean pole with a strobe lite. This is not anything bag against Mike just the way I see it, maybe you agree or maybe you wont but you know what they say about opinions???????

well the way i see it i like the faster speed for the trucks makes for more exciting race . people will have to TRY things till the field is level .

Man i just cant get away from it whether im on the track or off i seem to be the topic of all conversations. What am I doing so wrong? I work hard on what I have along with im guessing everyone else and still seem to be the bad guy. I have a passion for what i do and everyone else that has that same drive does everything in there power to finish the best they can thats all i do. I am very fortunate to have what i have, my truck, my pit crew, my family, a track to race at, people to race with and my sponsors to back me in every way, whats wrong with that? If its that bad you guys on here let me know what i can do to fix the issues that i keep hearing about. Week after week we look at the track make adjustments and tweek it all through the night while other are up watching the races im sorry i dont do that, but as you see come feature time my truck runs well, its smooth, it dont bounce and it goes where i want it 2, im sorry for being dialed in look the next time i race i dont jerk the wheel and most of the time i drive one handed no mater how the track is, thats why its fast whats so bad about that. Ask anyone out there i have never cold shouldered anyone i am always willing to help, even if i cost me the race. Winning is nice but not when your making enemies doing it. I could see all the whinning on here if i played dirty and was rough and if i forced my way to the front but im not that kind of driver. And lastly i pit where i do because i am not wanted any where else thats obvious. About everything else I DO MY HOMEWORK get use to it, it'll never change. And who said you could never make a FORD handle?

You know I have given you crap from day 1! B) It's all just racin! You and your brother have gotten in a car and drive a half hour-45 mins to help someone so they can race the next day. I don't think I have heard anyone say you are a bad person. It's all coming from truck people because we like to see others win also. There are alot of truck guys who stick together like family and some who are family. Of course we are going to root for each other. So on this end don't take it so personal. I just thought Higbea's comment was hilarious and couldn't help myself. And I have said time and time again the comment about the money. (Nothing new there either) So I guess keep doing what you are doing and we must keep doing our homework.

Hey Mike, Could you start parking a little closer to us? Maybe it would help us out and give us that little extra boost we need.

I would have to say that right now you are at the head of your class, and you are getting a A+ for doing your home work. It always happens when some one gets hot people start talking, The best way to handle trash talking is on the track. The old saying, When the green flag drops the bull shit stops.

Why is everyone taking away Gabe's 2 wins? Seems as though he isnt even mentioned in here. Lets see...... there have been 6 races and 3 different winners. Gabe won two in a row and didnt see a thing written about him other than congrats which is the way it should be.

I hope that wasn't directed at me or my story. I've said before that I'm not a professional writer but I do try to make the story as interesting as possible. Please take into consideration that my weekly story is posted and printed on other sites and in as many newspapers that I can get to print it. Believe it that their are some people that read about Waynesfield Motorsports Park every week and have never even seen the track once! I have been at a local track with my father and a new car pulls onto the track. He will recognize the drivers name or car # and say "that must be so and so from Ill or Penn, he is the hotdog at such n such track. He came along way to run here." He knows this because he reads his Mid American Racing News every week. When I was growing up; Dad had a National Speedway Directory in the car everytime we went on our family vacation and we always found the nearest racetrack. Next week there might be a family from far away stop to check out Waynesfield. The races might be a little more interesting to them because they read that Hicks and Henry have been winning alot. Everybody wants somebody to root for or against at the track.
Having raced for 10 years myself, I wish that we would have a different winner every week. I know how much work goes into having a racecar and I know that everyone is dying to get their 1st win. It would also help with photo sales. :) If it weren't for the caution flag, Hippy would have gotten his 1st ever feature win. It is a thrill for me to be the 1st person to see the smile of a 1st time winner. Saturday night just made Hippy more hungry and that smile will be even bigger when it comes. And you can bet that Hicks will be smiling too because they will both remember how close this one was.
Mike is on top of his game. If it were that easy...everyone would be on the track instead of in the stands. Believe me... Mike has a white Mustang that you don't wanna race on the street either. BELIEVE ME. I didn't want to buy his Mustang motor but he did kinda make me think about doing some work to my Trans Am.

And do you really think that truck #26 is running alcohol? I think that everyone would know without any question if that were true. And if you think they are running gas with methanol mixed.....add 5 gallons of it to your daily driver and then tell us what happens. Heck just mix half and half in a clear jar and see for yourself before making anymore statements like that. I bet that I'm not the only racer that thought about it. I bet some of you actually did it.

Don't worry Jessica....they used to say I was running alcohol also. And Mike, I didn;t mean to single you out by talking about cylinder head work because to be frank I'm sure many people have cylinder head work so you're no different if you do or don't. One thing Mike said is true...very true! In 2006 everyone know that i was running an Iron Duke the first race of the season and it blew up so what did I do.......I bought a motor on EBAY out of a 1987 Chevy S-10 for $135 and dropped it in. I ended up winning three races that year with a TOTALLY stock engine using a 350 CFM Holley carb. How can that be done....HANDLING! That S-10 that I had handled like a dream and it didn;t do it all by itself......We had to work hard on it with the help of people like Charlie Overly, BTI Mechanical Services, Dallas Moore and my dad. It really does take work and maybe Mike is simply doing more work than others. Heck, Mike you know I've always given you a rough time but you made a good point....you never wrecked me or pushed me out of a groove while racing so I can be thankful for that! Last season I was just 100% frustrated at myslef mostly because I could never get a handle on the Toyota and that truck was a former track champion truck.....granted the competition was not as stout as is it now but still.....I got whooped last season! =) Anyway Noffsinger also makes a good point....it's racing and whoever is winning will always take the heat. 2004- Dyllan took the heat 2005- I took the heat; 2006- I took the heat first then it cooled down for a little bit. 2007- Mike took the heat; 2008- Mike is taking the heat again. However you look at it it's a no win situation and like Rogr said there is no real good solution. The only solution is to make your truck as good as Mikes or just enjoy that you're turning laps and keep digging! Anyway........I made this post to clear the air that no matter what was said or done in the past I think Mike is doing just what he says........WORK! I also feel that Jessica is doing the right things but she just can't buy any luck or she's in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm glad that I'm not in this mix this season......but you guys and gal are doing a fine job of keeping the class alive!

For some of you not old enought it was a pop years ago.
Main thing is mike just keep doing what you have fiqured out. Some will just have to pick up their game plan. Its better off to be a winner than to be in a slump and beat your yourself up trying to fiqure out what is wrong. Thats whats wrong with some complaing now. Rather than fiqure out what is wrong , they think it is easier just to bring you down to their level.
