BFP92 - lacking sufficient intelligence and logic for a sound argument - you resort to name calling. That speaks volumes.

I have no problem calling you a dumbass too. I just call it like I see it or in this case read it. Plain and simple it's a business. Call the state or federal government and ask. Wether you make or lose money isn't my problem I'm just stating the facts.

Express Man - You need to go back and read my posts because I am in no way shape or form a PROMOTER not a 'promortor" as you called me. If you are going to threaten me of being something at least spell it right buddy. I am simply sticking up for dog hollow speedway and the sport of racing because its you kind of people that are hurting the sport by crying over a $25 entry fee. And as for my name, any normal heterosexual male I know likes chunya? I mean hey maybe you smoke the bologna pony 8==D, whatever you're into Express MAN. Like I said before, get to work on that late model man because you said "Words spoken by a true expert on racing???" about me in your last post. Well I mean I guess you can call yourself a true expert on racing after all of the previous success you have had on the track. BFP92 - FACTS?!? The only thing you have stated on this post was crying about the cost of practice. You have stated no other facts? Why would you call the government? How is taking your toy to race a business? It is not your job? Hey I don't know though the way you talk maybe you are a professional race car driver and make a living off of it. AND ALSO..... THERE WAS 76 TRI-AXLE LOADS PUT ON THE TRACK AT 21 TONS A LOAD! Most was put in the turns because that is where it was needed. So get your "FACTS" straight before you run your mouth. Have a good night, time to go eat some Chun!

Racers are independent contractors basically hired by the track to race to make long story short. All racing winnings can be claimed as income on your taxes therefore entitleing you to claim the expenditures. Therefore making it a business. Albeit a business that makes no money but TECHNICALLY is not a hobby or a toy. The racecar is considered a work vehicle and anything spent can be claimed for partial reimbursement. Racers are considered as a self employed business.

Now time to munch on some chun lmao

Yup I'm a dick!!!

I think you better go back and read what I said......I never mentioned a word about his $25.00 practice, or what day he was opening...or how much pond silt he puts on the track! I simply said any decision Jim makes is soley based on MONEY! Yes he is a Promotor and needs to make money to stay in business! But he also needs to be fair with his racers as well! Jim is makeing more money than anyone else Currently promoting! And paying his racers less! He has the worst latemodel payout in the business! Marion Center atleast pays for heats! I don't know what some of the other Steel Block tracks pay! Maybe they are worse! But they aren't claiming to be Super latemodel Tracks! Pay attention to what Bedford......Winchester....Potomac....and even Thundervalley paid last year ! Then check out Roaring Knob as well! Marion Center is just as bad....except they pay for heats! All direct competition to Jim! Then come back here and tell us what a great place Dog Hollow is to race! Jim gets over 100 cars a night in the pits! Sometimes as many as 120. More than any other track! The formula for that is 4 people per car! But you as a promotor(friend of) should know that! I would say he gets 5-700 people in the stands! More than any other track! But pays less! I don't respect that! And I won't support him untill he raises his payout to a fair 2013 Purse! I used to go to Dog Hollow every Friday night! Then he went Steel Block! Then when he did bring the Supers back.,..he didn't want to pay them! Jim has never wanted to have an up to current standards payout since he opened the track! I think he paid $600.00 to win his first season! And Raced till the snow flew???? And was getting 40 Superlates a night! What happened to the extended season now that he only gets 12 a night??? ???? Like all other promotors....Jim only wants to do what makes him the surest...easiest ...money! And that catches you in the end! I know a lot of drivers that don't even consider racing there because of the payout! But you...friend are the expert! So before you start hacking on me....read what I said first! Next....This isn't a spelling BEE! I am sure everyone knows what I meant...even you! I would also be willing to bet I have had more experience with all aspects of racing in the last 40 years...... than you ever will! So know what you are talking about before you shoot your mouth off! Next.....I doubt I will be attending Dog Hollow in 2013! I only attended once last season because I had free tickets! So I really don't care what Jim does! Jim is a nice guy! Has a nice little track.....Could really have a "Gold Mine" there! Lots of people want to race there! But he needs to get his purse up to current standards!

And Jim wouldn't want to LOOSE any money because the weather is cold and maybe people won't come! Jim Michany only thinks about Jims Pocketbook!!!!!!

Just thought I would bring this back up for "Fetish Man" as a reminder of what I posted! ADD maybe Chun?

Food for thought..... if Dog Hollow did raise the latemodel payout..what would happen????? About half of the Bedford cars and half of the Lernerville cars would be racing at at Dog Hollow! Not to mention the ones thatn sit on Friday night because there is no good choice! And then were would all the fans be???? Dog Hollow! Because the true race fans follow the latemodels! Friends...Family...Neighbors... and Relatives go to see the lesser divisions and Jimmy, Johnny and Suzy race! Go Dog Hollow!!!! Can't race a $100,000.00 car for $100.00 up to 12th position! Just the facts Chun! What seems like smart business to you???

I'd venture to say that if Dog Hollow raised their purse that no Lernerville or Bedford or what's going to be McKean late models would leave their prior home. Remember when Raceway 7 was going to steal everybody's cars because of their huge weekly purse? What happened there? Oh yeah, they run crates as a headliner weekly now. Remember when Tri City was going to do the same thing? They're not even open any more.

Contrary to popular belief weekly purses have almost nothing to do with who shows. That's what nobody seems to understand.

I agree with BaconBits totally. It doesn't seem that weekly pay matters much when you look at who goes where for weekly Super Late Model Racing. The facts about RW7 and Tri City were spot on. I think it has more to do about distance, preference, and overall cost to run somewhere in general. Even look at tracks like Bedford and TVR locally, they pay well, but get absolutley no more cars than anywhere else, although Bedford does get some strong cars and cars for their bigger shows. Half the field at TVR the last few years was made up of steel blocks and 358's. I don't give a lick one way or the other about Dog Hollow, but there is always a reasonable field of Late Models there and generally always some good quality cars, even though the pay is not so great. As far as their cancellations, that definitley leaves alot to be desired.

So you really think cancelling 3 WEEKS EARLY is ok??

I don't think any local track should even attempt to start in April. The season should start in May and run through September with any specials being run into October.

Tater Salad you must have never attended a race at Dog hollow because you said in your post earlier about the track being dusty in hot laps? Buddy they haven't ran a hot laps session in over 10 years! GOT HEEEEM! So yeah you can tell me JMO FAQQQQ all you want buddy. Maybe instead of attending the races you should read a book to gain some knowledge LOL. I'd like to thank Walt Wimer for posting about insurance still needing to be payed for a practice!! Jim has to pay workers too! You all don't think about EVERYTHING Jim has to put into consideration. Like I said before you people think running a race track only has to deal with the cars going around your track. And yes Skull why would he run the track if he wasn't making money? That's a dumb comment buddy that's like saying a guy opened up a store but he doesn't want to make any money off of it. NO crap he has to make money! And as for BFP92 no you're wrong, its a business for the track owner, it is a hobby for the drivers and fans. Just like if want to go practice golf you still have to pay to play? You people cry about $25 that's pathetic. Before you run your mouth off put yourself in his shoes and then we'll talk. Happy Easter

So then why would you get so offended about people bitching about him charging $25 for practice? Instead of you acting like his keeper, all you had to say was, if you don't like it, then don't go.

I could care less where anyone goes, but like it or not, DHS has a less than stellar reputation, and this message board didn't have anything to do with it.

Skull . You sir are the typical bleacher creature. Do you know the cost of racing 1 of the big 3 classes at Lernerville? 1st got to buy Dirt pass. 2nd got to buy there Hoosiers or tire of year at almost double the price from them. As far as them paying the best purse. How about subtracting those costs from that. Go there and watch then. If you have no intentions of coming to DHS . Then shut the hell up.

Don't lecture me. I'm more than well aware of what it costs to run Lernerville weekly. The DIRT membership. Transponders and Raceivers. Having to buy the VP fuel at the track. The tire rules. All of this even before you unload your car.

Look, I've said many, many times on here than I hate some of the stuff WRG does.Everyone has issue with their favorite track. You have choices on where to run, And from a fan's standpoint, Lernerville is second to none.

Call me a bleacher creature all you want. I could care less. Oh and, keep telling people that bitch about DHS not to go and to shut the hell up. Then you'll be looking for a new joint to race.

I'll second that :P

And racing is a self owned business it's not a hobby. If it was a hobby you couldn't claim expenditures.....

Oh, I'm crushed that you agree with him. Jackass.

What sounds like a smart business to me? How does it make sense to have a $100,000 car competing for a couple hundred or thousand dollars a week? Doesn't sound like a smart BUSINESS decision to me. The only people making money off of racing are the outlaws and lucas oil series and those guys at the top are the only ones making money. This is exactly why I call it a hobby. And as for raising the purse, last year Dog Hollow averaged more than 20 late models every week so obviously the purse does not affect the car count because these guys realize it's not worth the little extra money because they are not making any money off of racing. And since you all are claiming it to be a business I don't understand what you want Jim to do? A business is supposed to make money? Dog Hollow is a great track that allows us to continue to enjoy racing and I have a lot of respect for it. If you people keep crying and complaining you are going to push every track to close. So think about how spending a little more cash can help save the sport. What will you do if you have no place to enjoy your sport? I know what I will be doing, yes honey i'm coming, I will just be having for chunya, goodnight ya'll.

IMO as someone who plans to race at dhs weekly I approach it as this, I don't agree with the fees to pay for practice as others and always thought if its good enough to practice on its good enough to race on. He is a business owner and has to do whats best for him and me as a business owner (yes racers are business owners) I have to do what I think is best for me, and that is I will find another track to race at and use that as practice. I don't personally like the idea of paying to practice and getting nothing in return so I will choose to sit at home or finad another track that is racing that night. I don't blame anyone for doing what they think is best for them as an owner. Just my 2 cents.

you mean the lazy promoters around here who don't wanna put the effort in because it's cold or it's to early to start or whatever the excuse is...most of the best tracks in pa are already racing/have held a race this year....
