Tracks can only afford to pay so much ... These tracks don't close because they are making a killing .Trust me if u saw their payouts in some of the lower divisions you would understand why. Don't think they are losing money as I would say they have better car counts than any track in western pa. They are outdrawing all of the higher paying tracks in the area. Would imagine they will benefit more from this than anyone.

easier for a super to go ta bedford, they dont have a tire ruleNot everyone runs a super. Supers can just as easily go to Bedford. Its a better track anyways

Old sun honey ..... Just looking for a little power in her flower as usuall ....from that thread scruff.........
There is no truth to a rumor that the track is closing the doors early this season. The track is still planning to race on a weekly basis through September.

Been around racing long enough to understand that. I wouldve understand taking a pay cut at dog hollow with the low car counts. Never ran mc but they must be doing something right to be getting that many cars every week. Guess ill have to give them a try this week

The reason Lernerville has a tire rule is because they are dirt sanctioned. That's what smart tracks doeasier for a super to go ta bedford, they dont have a tire rule

So a track closes due to losing money and as a result you want another track to increase pay so they too can lose money .... Sounds legit ...
Its kind of an ironic scenario. I understand you've been around racing for a while so you have most likely seen all sides of this argument.
But in my opinion, a racetrack needs to spend money to make money. If the pays were increased, it would attract a larger variety of cars on a weekly basis for all divisions. With more cars, comes more racing, so more bang for your buck for the fans. And with more drivers, it is more likely that the "scrums" do not transfer into the feature so that leads to better racing throughout all divisions as well. That will attract fans.
I dont believe truly this economy crap. If the work and effort are put into the speedway, people and drivers would come. Its the entertainment value they are after. Dog Hollow simply didnt have that effort. They were inconsistent, races were hard to see, and payout was simple average/below average.

Ppms raised their cadet payout from 52.00 to win all the way to $400.00 and it resulted in 8 cars. There are many things that cause cars to not come, and I don't think low pay out is one of them. The reason I say that is because of the enormous amount of money it takes to race. If your paying 10k for engine rebuilds and 14.00 a quart for oil raising 5th place pay 10% is like pissing in the wind. There's many other more agrivating factors that create a low car turn out. People can argue till they are blue in the face but charging for parking and selling beer instead of BYOB is great forIts kind of an ironic scenario. The fans but I disagree. The promoter needs to find out why cars aren't coming and make the necessary adjustments. The only time pay is a big issue is when they checks the track owes you don't come. For instance Tyler county speedway still owes me $250.00 for that reason once I'm racing again I won't go there. I know for me Atleast the track payouts having
Nothing to do with me having not raced yet this year.

yo man what da f*ck you tryin to say??? blee blee blee blah blah blah, money in pockets yeeeahwI agree with the legend. If you show up at a track the payout obviously meets your standard. Ppms is right around the average payoff in all divisions.the economy around does affect car count. But I don't think that is having as big of a result on the over all fan count which is way diwn . that also affects the prices for the people who put on the show. The drivers all pay 35 dollars a week to put on a show for the fans at ppms. But the drivers and crews money goes towards paying the bills while not getting a single "thank you". Anytime there is a raised purse for any division everyone that goes in the pits gets charged an extra 5 dollars. There is no reward for putting on a show weekly unless you win. But you are still losing money. But promoters only worry about the fans. Not the ones when put on the show and those that help put on the show and pay the bills. If there's is money in their pocket they don't care what or why or how the money comes out of your pocket
