We ran our sprint car at Tri City once back in the 2000's. Rented a transponder and it came off during a heat incident never to be seen nor heard from again. Had to buy($260) a transponder to replace the rented($25) one. It was a costly Tri City visit. But maybe there is hope. Hey!!!!!!!!!! Don't throw that little black plastic thing away !!!!!!

Today 1/24/2014, the sheriff's office confirmed the sale is still on for Feb. 19th. That would mean there is no deal to buy Tri-City in place.

Wrong answer, Tony Stewart racing is buying the property and he is purchasing PPMS along with ebensberg speedway, he is going to have a 3 track racing series. This is going to be a great thing for western PA. racing. This is legit, the source is good I heard all this from my monkeys uncle. Reason being this is coming up at the end of the week ,we were celebrating MLK day all week

We literally know nothing more than we did before except if he does happen to purchase the track he is changing the name.

Anybody who actually thinks this is going to happen is delusional.

I wonder what the complicated legal matters were that delayed the virtual press conference/youtube video as nothing has actually happened.

Although according to this site

The Thomas Organization has annual revenues of $2.5 million, so who knows.

If his plans do happen it's like hitting the lottery for all western Pa an Ohio dirt track fans. I'm going to be positive and give Mike Thomas my very best wishes in this great venture.

I don't know Mr. Thomas, but I applaud him for trying to revive the place and give us another track to race at. I surely am not going to bad talk someone for this. He must be pretty confident, why else would he do everything that he has done so far. I hope it works out and will support the place for sure.

The Cranberry Mall Race Show will be March 13th-16th, will there be representatives from The Thomas Organization at the show to answer questions pertaining to the opening of Allegheny Motor Speedway?

The thought of Tri-a City is appealing to hardcore racing fans. Be careful to look closely at his words. This was to announce his PLAN to acquire Tri-City. He does not own the track. He has been soliciting donations all over the area looking for people to donate to his plan. While somebody might have bought into his plan, not one business has come forward to say they are on board. His Summer Series plan is severely flawed. You don't just pick up the phone and they give you a show. A support series maybe, but not the main players. His plan apparently hinges on acquiring the track at the Sheriff's Sale on Feb. 19th. That sale is still on. So he owns nothing. The Sheriff Sale is real estate only. No equipment is included. Just watch carefully what they say and what they actually do. Talk is cheap, but reopening Tri-City is not. Reviving a restaurant in Cochranton doesn't even scratch the surface of what it will cost to put Tri-City back in business.

I'd love to see Tri-City reopen too, but not like this. Tri-City needs a Jeremy Corcoran (Canandiagua) or Jeff Taylor (AMP), a guy with some actual money and a love for the sport, not a KC Spurlock (look him up).

I don't know what is involved in his PLAN or what it takes to schedule races or how much $$ its going to take. What I see is a guy who has interest in the place and racing. Until his PLAN falls through, I'm going to hope it works and the place opens back up. If it don't work then the track will still sit and rot. Yes, its all about hope. I hope its true and happens
