insane...Show was just cancelled due to lack of cars. I just got the call.

IMO the only way asphalt racing will be successful in this area is to bring in major short track series once a month or so that will bring in their own cars. To depend on local/regional cars is Russian roulette at best as seen today....
And you can hardly blame the local drivers that may want to build cars and not doing so because of the worries of having a place to race from year to year.

It's definitely the first time I've ever gone to a racetrack only to find out that the show was cancelled due to a lack of cars... I'm sure the diehard dirt fans will have a field day with this, but to me, it is really sad that this happened.

I don't blame the track, they put up a good payout for the late models. The late model payout alone was more than a lot of tracks pay for all their divisions total. May not have been a huge payday to win, but you won't find many races that pay $550 for 20th. I thought the pay was spread out very well.
I do have to wonder about the asphalt teams. I know there aren't a pile of asphalt teams around, but I would think with the lack of opportunities to race, they would take advantage of the chances they do have.

How the heck can you blame the teams and drivers for not taking the risk to dump piles of money into a race car when they don't know from week to week year to year if they are even going to have somewhere to race it???
The three asphalt tracks in the area are worse than DC and Harrisburg politicians when it comes to working together and trying to make asphalt racing somewhat successful .....

I didn't say I was blaming the teams, I said that today made me wonder about the teams, I guess what I mean is that with only a couple tracks running late models, there aren't a lot of races available to those teams, so I would think that they would want to race when they had the chance. The stocks and 4cyl pay was no better than it is at their home tracks, so I wasn't expecting any of them to travel in for this show. It is no big deal to me. I was disappointed that the show was cancelled, but life goes on, and there are plenty of other tracks around to attend.

You need one rulebook with three different covers..AND if you remember correrctly Jennerstown/Motordrome drivers never did support this track...the only way this track will make it will be to have specials as D1RT suggested...

Also, the three tracks never would work together, and probably never will.

So did any cars show up at all in any of the classes?

don't know the exact numbers but was told as of 2pm (1 hour before start) they had 8 total cars for 3 classes, with just 2 of them late models....
