Latrobe got killed before the economy failed. It's biggest problem is that it's owner, George Teslovich will lease it, but for what I am given to understand is a deal that is impossible for a promoter to make money. Ask Chester Aretta (sp?) and Joe Gombach.
ExpressMan, those guys you named may have raced there, but I went quite a few times and I never saw all of them there at the same time. In fact, the only guy I ever saw win was Horton. Usually twelve to fifteen Supers and Horton was generally far and away the class of the field. Also, the surface wasn't that great. I heard many people bitch about cut tires supposedly from the broken pieces of terra-cotta that were never sifted out. A buddy ran a BB Mod race there, and I can't recall exactly, but I think he lost four tires in the feature.
Latrobe was definitely the raciest big track I've been to. And they got great fan support. They just couldn't draw cars, but might have had a chance to do some things to change that if the lease wasn't so onerous. I liked going there.
