Always has to be some asshole who wants to be "first", so he reports what he heard from a friend of a friend, before any kind of investigation can be finished. Chill and let the police do their job before you post rumors and hearsay, people.

Is he a police officer, who is trained to investigate incidents? Or is he a blowhard that was 12 beers deep by then and couldn't wait to tell everybody what he "seen"? And twitter is a completely reliable source, and no one would ever jump to conclusions to feel important. Our society sucks anymore.

Drivers: When you sign a waiver to race, what are the details of it?

To me, regardless of the kids condition, its going to come down to intent and if this is a criminal investigation.

they just broke the story on SportsCenter ,no word on the kids condition though, hope he's alright.

sounds like the rear tire pulled him under the car . Witness said it threw him out from under the rearend. It does not sound good.

Didn't look intentional to me. Even looks like the car in front of Stewart swerved to miss him. Bad deal

Just saw on Twitter that he didn't make it. Just a bad deal all around. RIP

the real tough part about this is that to everyone in the world who doesn't watch racing or hasn't driven a car, this looks very intentional. I think Tony didn't see him til the last second and turned right and hit the gas to get the rear end to come around to the left to miss him, but it was too late. Really tragic for Ward & his family.

Man, how many times have we seen an angry driver leave his car to confront someone? I saw a video of the incident that looked like it was shot from the infield. Hard to tell if Stewart even saw this poor kid.

Ya I've watched the video from the infield several times. It's very hard to see what actually happened. Prayers for the family

What a shame... I don't believe Tony even saw him or intentionally tried to hit him. Either way the boys family and Tony will never have a day go bye without remembering that day.

What a terrible night for all involved. I hope that we as a racing family aren't too quick to judge and take this as what it was, a tragedy.
