Yes Clearfield Speedway was NASCAR sanctioned under Ferd Wallace's ownership.  Jennerstown and Motordrome played follow the leader just like the racing on their tracks !!!

Bogus is correct, Ferd started the NASCAR deal at Clearfield.  I just think it's a matter of money, no one has any around here.

I was told that Big 10 series is interested in racing at CNB as a companion event with Super Cup.

The people that operate these series know each other from the pro cup days and may actually be talking for real.

Which would be better Big 10 or a street stock race using cars from around the area.

Street stock race using cars from around the area?  Just how many street stocks are in the area?  I'm not talking J-town and Motordrome cars here either...

It seems that there were four or five local cars that came last time.

The question was what would it take to support a street stock race at CNB.

There are five local cars plus--- WHO?---JMMR said he had two, that's seven.

No one will promote this race without knowing if anyone is interested in it.

This is the time to tell the promoters that you want to race.

pay-out  tires and all the rest don't mean anything if the race doesn't happen.

People need to step up and say that they want this race to take place so one of these promoters can make it happen.

I can remember in the 80's if you wern't in line by at least 4:30 you would not get a spot on the hill. BTW. It was Dirt.

There's always more speed! And you don't have to cheat to find it!

^^ that's probably because they will end up running zero events. Same as last year, 4 cars and 13 fans will come and be sent back home. It IS a shame for the paved track folks. For the dirt drivers/fans..... You have so many tracks to support. GO SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TRACK.

So, with only 5 cars per class, and 30 fans, how would you expect them to run more than 3 races?  If I was in thier shoes, I would be hesitant about scheduling a lot of shows too.  The fan interest in the track has not been good, so scheduling any show is a gamble.  I don't think the purse for the Super Cup series is really large, and they do have about 15 cars that hit most of the races, so it might be a real bargain division for the track to run.  I would love to see super modifieds or nascar modifieds, but that is a big risk with the amount of money you would have to put out compared to what you might bring in.

I would defnitely hit an Roc/True Value/NASCAR modified tour or an ISMA or Main Event supermodified race if they had one up there, and I suspect plenty of other people would too. Like you said, though, I can't see them taking the finincial risk it would take to bring in such a show. If it was my track, I doubt I would either.

I think the big problem with the track is promotion. They don't do a very good job of getting word out to the masses about any of their races. The dirt races they had in the past five or six years weren't exactly well promoted by the track itself either. The only way you're going to make the place viable financially is to draw fans from other areas. The area the track is in is obviously not conducive to drawing fans to any track.

All very true posts, the last time that place was promoted in an efficient manner is when the guys from DuBois owned it and Lynn Felix was the promoter...she did a good job, everyone knew about the place, there were lots of cars and quite a few people...but even then I'm not sure that the place ran in the black, I'm pretty sure it did but not 100% sure...people need to take lessons from Vicki Emigh, she was a good promoter...but then again it all comes back down to money, it costs money to promote.

and as an added bonus you won't be there...that in itself should increase attendance

What about getting a street stock and participating yourself. Perhaps the support of an elder Racestud statesman such as yourself would be enough to push local and regional support over the top and make CNB a success.
