INDIANA, PA - Lias Tire AND American Racer are pleased to announce the creation of the Crate American Racer Series (CARS) program to be run in the Crate Late Model division at tracks throughout the northeast in 2015! We will be putting up an overall point fund of over $20,000, with at least $5,000 for the overall champion. The CARS program is all about weekly home track racing, as a teams best finishes at their weekly track will be stacked up against the best finishes from teams at all of the participating facilities.

In addition to the overall point fund, teams will compete against one another at their home track for awards, as well as having random tire and other product giveaways throughout the season!

HOW IT WORKS
The Crate American Racer Series (CARS) will rank crate late model drivers throughout the northeast, on paper, and will use the newly designed American Racer Crate tire or the current Hoosier (FASTRAK or RUSH) crate tire. The newly designed Crate American Racer Tire utilizes a block tread pattern and will be available in the 44, 48, and 56 compounds. This program is based upon Home Track points that will be accumulated during a specified time period in the 2015 race season. Drivers need simply to compete at their weekly track(s) to accrue points towards the championship. Of the feature finishes in that time period a driver will be ranked based upon his best 10 feature finishes. The points will start on Memorial Day Weekend May 22, 2015 and will continue through Labor Day Weekend September 6, 2015. In order to qualify for the CARS program a team simply needs to register at their local track or through the website at a later date. There will be both an overall point fund as well as home track awards. The cost for registration for the 2015 season is only $50.00 for the overall point fund. There is no cost to be registered for the home track points. Teams must simply register and run only American Racer Crate tires when competing at their home track(s). Any finishes outside this time period will not be counted toward the CARS overall points.

Participating tracks and series sponsor announcements will be made in the coming days. For more information on the CARS program you can call 800-638-7028 or email us at liastire@hotmail.com.

Another crate sanction is the last thing the northeast needs.

So wait... you HAVE to run American Racers to be elgible?  Or you can run either AR or Hoosiers?  It says two different things in the post...

You can run any crate tire, American Racer, Fastrak, or Rush. However to be eligible for points, monies, and contingency awards drivers have to run the American Racer tire.

So basically if you don't run American Racers this deal means absolutely squat. Participating tracks???

Pretty much sounds like a Marion Center/Dog Hollow deal......

Your right about that Baconbits!  I'm not anti AR's but now we have a tire manufacturer starting a series too. Hard to believe anyone thinks this is good for crate racing. Lester was right about one thing he posted for sure. More series just dilutes what we have and further complicates tech etc...............

It sounds like it is more of a program rather than a series. It doesn't look like there will be a schedule, simply adding a program that will be run IN the crate late model division.

I know they are calling it a series, but it's because of points, not a schedule.

Um. The way I read it all Rush or Fastak has to do is allow ARs and the racers could run fir thus extra money. But they won't because of Hoosier $

That's what I was thinking....

I know that there are a couple of tracks that are not running a sanction, and for thier drivers, this is a great chance at a couple extra $$$ come the end of the year .

Be interesting to see if either of the sanctioning bodies are going to get pressure from thier drivers to allow AR's .....

This is a great idea for the racers that don't have a sanction at their track. The Hoosier only rule is terrible.

This is absolutely looking to pull racers away from Fastrak and RUSH. You see how well it worked out the last time the crate sanctions split, right? Adding another sanction isn't helping a goddamn thing. It's hurting more than anything. Instead of creating a sanction, AR would be much better served by using their resources to secure the tire deal with an existing sanction. They'd sell a shitload more tires.

there are a few tracks around that have an open tire rule and they are what lias is targeting.

you have thunder mountain, hummingbird, marion center, dog hollow, ppms, theirs 5 tracks without a tire rule for the crates and there are eriez speedway and

stateline, and mckane county, thats 8 tracks that they can sell tires at if they all run a crate division.

Actually, you are wrong about 2 of the tracks: PPMS and McKean are Rush sanctioned. Also, Dog Hollow will be Rush sanctioned next year most likely(they had a rules meeting there last Sunday afternoon).

Also, Eriez is Fastrak sanctioned.

So, that's 4 of your 8 tracks out the window already.

This is not a series simply and incentive for guys to run AR's. If you want to then great if not then that's fine too. A lot more racers would be able to take advantage of this if Fastrak and Rush weren't money hungry with big tire deals.
