There are so many holes in those rules they will be changing them every week.

better get a better shock rule in place I don't understand not allowing aftermarket blocks but it also does'nt say you have to use a oem 350 block either, theres more than one way to skin a cat to get 360cu. in.

There is a shock rule in place, no adjustable shocks. They should probably clarify a little, but this means no shock that can be adjusted by either changing gas pressure or changing valving. In my opinion what needs to be added it "No shock with a MSRP more than $200."
There is a oem stroke rule, so as far as the other ways to skin a cat in a sbc, not gonna do it with a 3.48 stroke crank.
This isn't hard guys. It's a late model with basically the following limitations: No adjustable shocks, All steel engine with max ci of 360, solid lift cam with max .515 lift, no exotic degree heads, no dry sump, no aftermarket block, stock stroke crankshaft. This class is about affordability yet being fast. Don't be surprised when these cars are less than a second slower on the mylaps in the feature than the steel blocks at the bird.
I'm looking forward to running at the Bird some this year in this class.

it says no after market blocks, that implies OEM only! it's one or the other there is no gray area there.
They are following pretty much the exact set of rules AMP had. You're always going to have people playing in the gray and pushing the rules. I don't know why there's a lot of bitching to begin with...It's not like there's going to be teching done anyway. They may pump you, and stick a magnet on your heads, but unless it's blatently obvious you're cheating, no one will know. It's sad but that's hummingbird! I wish they had the man power to thoroughly go over every car that comes in but they can't. it would be nice to mandate drivers to be there early enough to go through tech prior to the heats like they do at some of the bigger tracks Virginia Motor Speedway is one that I know of. But unfortunately something like that just wont fly around here.

When a track is starting a completely new class they should make the rules with very little gray areas to work with.
One reason AMP and Clinton county had so many problems , You need rules spelled out and tech people to enforce them not sit in the stands and watch the races.

Remember the old addage that if it doesn't say you can't don't assume you can! The bottom line is that this is a class to be more affordable than the steel block class. 18 and 14 degree heads and the valve train they require are not affordable! If you want to run that stuff run with the steel blocks. This is a $5000 engine class. Yes the lack of enforcing rules can kill the class, but so does racers constantly trying to circumvent them.

USED PARTS are all over.

USED PARTS are all over.
But using the used exotic parts still goes against the idea of the class. Everyone complains that classes get out of hand, then when there's an attempt to create affordable racing everyone fights to make it more expensive. The rules are pretty good once the gray areas get cleaned up. If you find yourself wanting anything more, there's a steel block class still.

legend stick to building decks like you know how. You can build a very dependable motor using a stock block and good internal parts that are balanced ,You can turn it 6500 all day long.
