It won't matter, to reclay a track it needs time to knit in. If he decides and HUGE if he chooses to do it in the spring during the thaw, it will not last. It will peel up and before you know it! Back to rock and coal!

Anyone who intends on running there this season had better be prepared to destroy atleast 1 set of tires a night. And if you're one of the lucky ones, catch a nice big rock to the helmet, along with radiators, shocks, and whatever else you can afford to ruin because of the boulders.

Not a personal vendetta, just calling out incompetence when it is blindingly obvious is all.

Does anyone even know that clay wasn't brought in.   Has anyone seen the surface lately?   Just curious.

Nothing was touched as of early last week. The coal was still showing thru the clay in turn two.

Banks aren't willing to lend people money for insane business ventures like a race track . If you go into that not sitting on a stack of cash your fuked.... And dudes with that kind of money sitting around arent stupid enough to spend it on a dumpster fire in meth county

Agreed. And they aren't dumping any into the premier facility in the money capitol of the world (aka the legend's backyard) either. Management is more important than location I think. Guys will travel (within reason) to race at a place worth the trip.

I see all the comments on this matter with the track promotor. My question is. WHERE DO THE RACERS GO IF THE GATES DO NOT OPEN ? By the sound of things it may be a uphill battle. You can't keep trashing equipment due to conditions that are out of the racers control. I sometimes wonder why if you have 2 tracks struggling that the owners/promoters do not do a partnership. Egos ? Control ? sounds good but I don't think that it has ever happened.

Thunder mountain/bo Lockwood has communicated well and cooperated with hummingbird since reopening. They've mirrored their rules for the most part and shared cars fairly successfully. Thunder mountain has made HUGE improvements to the facility/grounds, but unfortunately the surface went away halfway through the season. Hopefully they can figure it out because they were awful close to having one of the better places to race in this region.

Well it sounds as though they where moving in the right direction. Hopefully for the racers all the issues can be worked thru so that the racers, first and foremost, can have 2 race tracks that will support and work with them.
