blue by you. What about tire stagger ? So you believe a simple gear change is all its going to take going from lernerville to ppms ? I doubt it....
I'm going to argue any tire stagger difference between the two tracks for a late model is a minor issue. Tire stagger is more about how the difference in tires effects the grip or slip of your tires per your ability to alter loading. I think a modern Late model chassis has more then enough adjustments to compensate for any banking and turn difference between the two tracks. Just having fun with ya still bored hoping to get a racing fix Saturday.
But I suspect there are those who read on here which will understand what I wrote and agree with it. yeah sure if you believe that I have this family owned bridge for sale just south of Pittsburgh.

If they were even talking about a late model, this may be relevant, but they aren't, so it isn't.

your the one with all the answers ass clown. maybe you need to float him some cash so he dosen't have to run the lm junk.
lol I'm guessing you are a bleacher race car driver.... you're the one that said "why is this such a big deal?" If it is not a big deal like you imply, PONY UP THE CASH AND SPONSOR THE MAN. Otherwise, you are admitting that this in fact a big deal. Are you a cheap hypocrite or are you the proud new sponsor of the sle21 race team?

Do you want to race against crate cars just like yours at Pittsburgh??
Well I guess you can if you simply enter the Sportsman race
Pittsburgh runs Crates just lik you do
And you get a weight advantage!!
How much is a Rush sticker
I know a couple Crate Sportsman who would like to run both features and race the 33 car and see if they would maybe go to Lernerville some day
And will the 33 car run both features to practice for the Laboon race th y attend every time ?

PPMS is running Penn Ohio rules this year. Which means only the 602 crate gets a weight break at 2700#. Open and 604 both weigh 2900#.
One car can not run in both features. Opens run with opens and crates run with crates. Only way a driver can complete in both features is by having two different cars.

Engine
Minimum Weight (lbs)
Open 2900
Spec and 604 2800
602 2600
dumb question without reading through their rules, what is "Spec"?
Per PPMS's rules on the web. 604's also get a weight break at PPMS that other tracks don't give.
edit: Any compound Hoosier Tire must be used at weekly PPMS events. That too is probably different.

Anyone have a 604 lying around to loan out?. I have a 2nd car, and wouldn't mind racing twice that night.

If you know if anyone that has a gear to run there for sale and you'd be interested in helping out, I can go fast then!
Sorry just don't have a gear or tires put together yet to run anywhere else but Lernerville

Dirt I know the rules page needs updated. The 2018 rules state Penn Ohio with their link yet have the 2017 weight classes. Its stale info.
Then I did something good for a change finding it.
That's a first.

What gears do you need for a 604 crate engine? Ive never ran one so Im not sure what you want to turn.
When I ran Mike Harris car last year we had a 543 and turned around 6700 I think. Some guys run a 567. Either one would work fine. A couple ran a 583 at the Laboon Race but I dont know what they were turning.

I doubt RUSH would do anything to intentionally hurt an established class at any track or weaken any class of cars with the intent to replace.
That's exactly what they do. Move in, muscle out and destroy. Ask Bob Lipinsky, Rob Shook, and Ryan Moyer about that. Go watch a "Pro Stock" "race" at Lernerville. Rush took the raciest class at Lernerville and turned it into a snooze fest where one guy passes everyone, and the race is over by lap 5.
My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

The point being is at stampede with a fairly heavy track on the first night the fastest lap was shared by McPherson and Miller, a crate stock and an open stock. It's not as if crate's can't hang with an open with the weight brakes etc. A few different guys have run crates weekly at Sharon against the open guys. As stated earlier, they don't want crates running with opens because this would take away from their numbers and that's bad for business. If that wasn't the case they wouldn't say you can only race opens or RUSH... McPherson also did very well at Sharon for the weekly penn ohio races until he stopped coming for whatever reason. He beat Schneider in a heat. Regardless of what motor you have you have to have a good setup. On a heavy track motor can compensate for a slightly missed setup but in a feature it's a wash. Penn Ohio is well run and followed. RUSH wants no crossover and really it's understandable. PENN/OHIO is a big obstacle for them. Also as stated, there is a lot of change needed for those guys to run that 1 night so is it even worth it???
This is what I'm saying. It was competitive without Vicki, opens and crates. The racing was great!

I'm a bleacher driver! That means that I'm one of the guys who make it possible for the racing to happen at all, and if the racing sucks, and the Rush racing usually does, it gets harder for me to put my $ into the gate that puts my butt in the bleachers. Sooner or later empty bleachers mean empty purses. Sponsors want eyeballs. No butts, no eyeballs, no sponsors, no gate $, no $ at all, buh bye. I'm not to that point yet, but it's getting closer and closer. I just quit watching NFL. I gave up on nascrap years ago. Once real racing isn't real racing anymore, (and make no mistake that's Vicki's intent), I can stay home. You won't miss me, but you will miss hundreds of me. I'm the customer and I don't have to buy the product if it sucks. Ask the founder of AOL how dictating to the customer and expecting their money anyway works out, except that he still doesn't understand what went wrong, (he recently gave an interview).

Divide and conquer, that's the plan and it's worked to perfection. Stovks needed some consistency from track to track with rules, not RUSH. I've said this time and time again but the pro mods were the last straw for me. Completely unecessary. Economods bring 20+ cars weekly at all 3 tracks they run yet here comes RUSH to muddy the waters. Tracks are to blame just as much because they partake and jump right in. I don't agree with the proposed claim rules of the elite modified series but i hope it gets new eyes on the economod class. I think that class may have some of the best racing this season at Sharon with Haefke, Miller, Double, Wright, Wilson, Eucker, and Ferry. Also more to your point, what happened when asphault pushed crates? People stopped coming... what happened when Tri-City dropped sprintd and had fastrack late models as a headliner? Didn't last long.
