And what Im saying is, NOBODY INVOLVED IN PUTTING THIS RACE TOGETHER, OR ATTENDING IT EITHER AS A FAN OR RACER, GIVES TWO SHITS ABOUT THE PENN OHIO STOCK CARS. The stock cars were added as a support class because they are cheap fluff to add to a sprint car show and fill time. The Penn Ohio stocks are on nobodies radar that are involved in this race.
That's fine, but it comes across as inconsiderate. And your post comes across as arrogant. If any non-sprint teams were on the fence about attending, which way do you think you pushed them? Nice contribution to this event, certainly appreciated by the actual promotion team.

None of you guys are crying about PPMS having a sprint race against Statelines All Star show Saturday. Why? Because the tracks are several hours apart and it will have minimal effect on either show. Mercer and Stateline stock cars are the same scenario but you guys have some chip on your shoulder about these stock cars.
Actually, I think some teams will have to make a decision between PPMS and ASCoC, which could have been avoided. With PPMS hosting ASCoC events, I'd imagine they must've figured the same thing as you stated, if the two parties had a discussion about it at all.
Regarding the stock cars, I don't know any more than what I've read on this site, but from what I gather this sticks in the craw for 17L because of the history of Mercer not working with him and his race when others were willing to. I realize this race is not under the same management so it's not really Mercer doing it again, but the name is the same.

If you were running the Penn Ohio series, this changes nothing. Dont go to Mercer. Any one that goes to Mercer, wasnt going to go to Stateline either wayYou do realize how many former Mercer regulars are now Penn Ohio members, right? Im pretty sure a good promoting plan to attract cars is not calling them cheap fluff that no one cares about to pad the back gate. And you do realize on Facebook many drivers were asking Mercer to use the Penn Ohio rules that no one gives a shyt about? Penn Ohio is the best thing going in this area for Stock cars- as 50+ cars and 80 cars coming up at Sharon for their first two events will attest. Any smart promotor would know this and try to work with them to get a show. Not the other way around.

Again, fine. You were perfectly clear the first time. Just pointing out that it was gratuitous of you to take a cheap shot at the support divisions, which I also thought was clear the first time.

I'll just leave it at this, since I've been told to be nice here. Regardless of the parties involved, this shows the apple doesn't fall far from the tree at Mercer when it comes to professional courtesy and appreciation of drivers. Good luck padding the back gate for sprints. I hope it's a great show.

Its not taking a shot, Im just being honest. The stock car people having dirty diapers about the sprint car people not being aware or caring about a stock car race 2 hours away is silly.
I always assume people are being honest. If you don't mind my being honest and disagreeing at the same time, I'll say that the organizers of a race thinking enough of certain groups to accept their money, but not enough to spend 15 minutes to find out if there are potential competing interests is not a good look. Even if Mercer/Stateline are not considered to be competing, you make it seem as though there was no discussion on the topic, because who cares about support divisions.
Support divisions know that they are support divisions, but it seems like crossing a line to announce that they just aren't important once they pay entrance.

Honestly, I would rather drive to Stateline to watch the Penn Ohio Series race; than watch a bunch of guys drive winged dune buggies around the bottom of a dust bowl.

I would go to the Mercer race if I was in town, and Penn-Ohio is on my list of things to do too. This is an interesting discussion, for how heated it is. It's the heated ones that drive traffic on message boards. Since most of us respect each other, we will likely have our fight and do the internet version of shaking hands after.

My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Mercer running at least once this year! Quit the bull and support the effort if you can. If you can't then you can't. I think if there's not at least one race there this year it might be gone forever. If you can't make Stateline put a little fun in your life, make the races at Mercer!
