Tri-City is running Sunday July 15, so that will set up a three night Sprint Car weekend for any driver who wants to run them all.

GOOD RACING!!!!

Bill Altman has zero financial ties to this race. Hell, he probably will not even be on the grounds. It is a small group of former and current drivers and owners who are footing tbe entire bill, no pun intended, and taking care of every aspect of this race weekend. They have put together what they believe will be an entertaining weekend for the fans and competitors. That program also has to fit within their budget. They are not trying to put the screws to anybody. Hopefully fans and racers will support them. People who have no intention of supporting them, and do not have the facts to back up their venommous rants would be better served putting their time into improving racing instead of ripping on the promotional group risking everything to keep one of the area's most historic tracks viable.

So youre saying Altman is not charging a lease fee for this event and is letting a race go on, with concession and suite usage, without getting a cut of that profit? On land he is trying to sell? Cmon now.

Exactly right. Turkey, and his group are handling every aspect of this show. Bill Altman's only involvement was to rent the track. You can bet it took some convincing to get him to rent the track. Remember Turkey was around behind the scenes last year. Altman knows and trusts him. He is a good guy who along with a couple others like Scott Priester are taking an enormous risk. Vince you did a great job with the Laboon Memorial, but how would you react to comments like yours if you had to cover every aspect of the night, from renting the track, hiring the help, handling the concessions, pay the insurance, pay the utilities, and on, and on. Bill Altman is not well liked. We get it, but the guys TOTALLY in charge of this effort are well liked and respected. Hopefully they will get the support they deserve.

Im not trying to irritate you but youre saying Altmans only involvement is to rent the track right? Are you saying he is doing that for free- as in he is handing those guys the keys that night and saying have at it? My whole point is its unfortunate after all he put people through that he gets to sit back and make money (rental fee?) as others come back to support a place they once loved. Does that make sense?

The alternative is letting it sit and go away. His not being there is all the difference you need. If he would have done that in the first place, the track wouldnt be in the shape its in.

Would he lease it for the rest of the season? Im only asking that because one race probably wont save the track, more of a farewell tour.

Everybody wants him to sell the track, in the mean time we just have to live with the fact that hes still the owner and is making money off of the rental and just be happy we still get to enjoy the place while we can.

No one thinks this saves the track, but it keeps it on life support until he budges on his price. Hes had numerous offers to buy it and he wont even wiggle. People wanted to lease it and he refused. We just have to wait him out until he needs it gone bad enough.

Good God Man LET IT GO. Let them have the race hoping it is supported 100% by the racers and the fans. What better way to put Mercer in the spot light one more time. It"s racing and any true racer or fan should go and have a good time. Please don"t make it a problem.

Hot dog and 3799 cleared things up. It sucks Altman is getting a rental fee for the night but it is what it is. As long as hes not there and the fans and racers have fun good luck. I still think it was disrespectful to go against Penn Ohio but I dont have any cash in the game so Ill shut up now.

Because he thought it was going to be easy and had all the answers.

As for the stocks being there. I understand what 17L is getting at. But, I also think there are enough stock car guys around that will not go to stateline. Personally, I would have reached out to the lernerville guys and seen if some had a interest in running. A chance for those guys to go race a Saturday night.

Penn/Ohio continues to grow, that's a good think thanks to 17L, Sharon, the promotors and tracks coming on board.

I think what racer17l is saying that everybody worked together putting schedules out and now Mercer throws out this date to take away from this.

And what Im saying is, NOBODY INVOLVED IN PUTTING THIS RACE TOGETHER, OR ATTENDING IT EITHER AS A FAN OR RACER, GIVES TWO SHITS ABOUT THE PENN OHIO STOCK CARS. The stock cars were added as a support class because they are cheap fluff to add to a sprint car show and fill time. The Penn Ohio stocks are on nobodies radar that are involved in this race.

Vince, If you have nothing nice to say, shut the hell up.

Is "shut the hell up" your something nice to say?

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.
