These huge paying crate races do nothing to help the division. Super LM teams with more funding usually come in an carry the money away. ALL the motors should be box stock and should never be opened. That is one of the failures of this class. Allowing rebuilds and money spent on unneccesary rebuilds.

Most of these race tracks are only worth the land they sit on for other development. And with that there is the added cost of demolition. There aren't too many race tracks making much money these days, so buying a race track is just that. It is not buying a high cash flowing business. Most of these track owners want a ridiculous price for the tracks, that could never even pay off a mortgage through the race track operation. Didn't Mercer sell for over $1 million when Altman bought it? It definitely isn't worth half that much.......

The Street Stock class is slowing fading out. The influx of crate late models helped in this, but ultimately the ridiculous open rules for this class will be its own demise. Racing transmissions, roller cams, headwork, motors over 362. None of this ever belonged in this class. But tracks gave in to the drivers, and now they have a class that will eventually be gone.
The Penn-Ohio races are the last life of the class. They are getting good car counts, now, but their wide-open rules will continue to see this class decline. That's a series run by racers, and you know when the prisoners run the prison what happens.
Many tracks are struggling to get 10 cars these days. Eventually Penn-Ohio will lose their car counts as well as there will be few weekly tracks with the division.
The division does OK at Lernerville because it is the only non-premium division if a driver wants to race there. Despite all the crying, their move to crate motors was a smart one to at least put some limits on these ridiculous, wide-open Penn-Ohio type motors.

Anytime officials get to choose which cars to send to the rear by their opinion, it creates situations like this. The most professional series do not use one-car judgement calls.

For the most part, the tracks in PA are very professionally run and send all cars that stop to the rear. Then there is this weird pocket of tracks in Clearfield and Indiana County that use back woods judgment calls, and cause situations like this.
