Last week they sunk 169 poles in the ground for the new gaurdrail. They got started putting up 84 feet of 3 row high gaurdrail. Then the rain came for three days and they had to stop. The banking is to steep to risk someone getting hurt. They have put up 20 ft. tall poles every 40 ft that will have cable passing thru to keep all race cars inside the place. The new light poles in turn 1 and 4 are in.They hope to have the gaurdrail done in 2 weeks. The water has been plumed to the pits.200 tons of fill dirt has been put down to help keep some erroding problems that they have had.The electric company will be putting in a tranformer for the pits in the next two weeks.Jeff said to all the folks that have come up to the track and spoke to him, he said it has been nice visiting with them and the support they have showed has been very in couraging. One more thing the gaurdrail will be 4 rows high when finished.I hope that will help answer some questions. And to the guy who keeps criticizing Jeff about cutting the grass,he's still cutting the grass.

thank you for the update....but the biggest question is anything at all this year still possible or just to much left to do?

I really doubt this year Storm and personally, I would like to see Jeff and his crew take their time and produce a complete, ready to go and up to date venue. Can you imagine the field day the nitwits on here would have if something ended up not completed and not to their lofty standards? All the best Jeff.

That's great that they are putting in 4 high guardrails and fill dirt in the pits. I was up last week and the only complaint I have is that they never fixed the narrow space coming out of turn 2, it had caused many wrecks over the years and it needs widened before racing resumes. I plan on supporting arp and hope it is a success its first year. ;)

Mash the loud pedal.

I just went thru all my post and did not see where I said that Jeff had made any dates for any races.I believe I said that they were trying to have a race before the season ended. To the other fellow about turn 2,the turns are not to spec. The staightaways will be 58 ft. wide and the turns will be 70 ft. wide. For a small race track that is considered very wide.As far as the apex in turns 1 and 2 it is not even close to being perfect.Almost every racetrack has its own quirks or personalities. Some drivers adjust to the track and learn to like it or just tollerate it,I called Jeff after reading your post and ask him what he thought about having a perfect shaped oval.He started to name every track in our area and could name something different about the turns in most of the tracks. He said he liked it that way and said he thought it gave some drivers an advantage. Back to the first guy,I am not trying to be rude but if you knew what they are trying to do for the area racing you might be a little easy on these guys. They do not want to build another crappy little dirt track with the same old junky problems that seems to be going on in this business nowadays.Things are changing and if we all do not make some major changes there will be more tracks closing and less tracks opening.

I herd DEP stopped in unexpectedly and shut them down because they didn't have the permits for something. Just wondering if this was true ? I really dont see them needing permits to do any of the changes and improvements there making. If so thats a bunch of crap.

How is it a bunch of crap it it's true???
Weather it's your house or a major business you have to have all the proper permits and inspections completed to any building or renovation project per the UCC code.
And as far as DEP if your moving dirt you best have your ducks in a row or they'll shut you down faster than you started. Wet land study, drainage, sediment run off containment, etc.....

Now I know why Jeff ask me not to respond to all the b.s. and i will try my hardest not to.All the permits with the township and the county are in order and I do not know why you would say such a thing. They are out there working everyday. It sounds to me that you maybe representing someone that does not want to see the place open.I will not feed your fire so go ahead and try and kill the place. No more responses from me.

Just let Jeff and his crew get on with doing what they are doing and appreciate that they are working to bring back a good quality dirt race track to the area. Its been a long time since we've had a good quality dirt venue in the area and these guys aren't going off and doing it half arsed like they did at CPS a few years back. When they are ready to go, I'm sure we'll all know about it and I'm sure we'll all be blown away with their efforts.

I really hate guys like you. I simply asked a question because thats what I herd as I stated. Read carefully before you respond my dear friend. Im not anywhere close the track but alot of guys my way used to race there and as i stated in my last post thats what i herd. I really hope there successful and draw great crowds and cars. Im about an hr and half from the place and would much rather drive there than any track 15-20 mins from my place. I do know if the guys are going to be ignorant about shit I wount bother ever coming back to the place once it re-opens. Ur trying to push shit off and put it on me when all I did was ask a Damn question about something I herd. So make sure Ur reading the posts carefully before you respond.

You can't blame these guys for getting testy about what gets posted here. You may not have any bad motives but a huge percentage of people who post here have every bad motive known to man. So take your ego and flush it down the toilet with the rest of the turds because if these track people keep getting met with attitude every time they get on here pretty damn soon they won't be here, and pretty damn soon after that all the track people will get sick of our shit and there will be a lot less racetracks to race on and watch races at.

Well he didn't need to answer my question the way he did. I asked a question from what I herd and was wondering if it was true. He jumped the gun about it. I already said I hope there successful and will most def attend when they do open but if there gana try and blame me and ask why I would even say such a thing im gana het pissed of then I wount attend any races there. It was something I herd I wasn't trying to bash them and hope they arnt successful just asked a simple question. I love the track I attended about every week when it was gamblers because alot of local guys down my way ran there. Steve everhart was one of them always did great at the track. I love the place and hope they get finished up soon and get racing. He just didn't need to jump me about the question i asked. Maybe they need to get someone with some more patience to post stuff for them. Good luck guys :)
