well that's a bunch of BS that u have to pay to camp!! they don't even have hookups. wtf!!
Something else for everybody to complain about for 8 pages even though many other tracks charge for camping also. Still cheaper than an $80 hotel room.

Upon further review PPMS PRO LATES AT THE PITTSBURGHER will have an open tire rule, grooving and siping permitted.Matt just looked at the Edge Crate rules for tires it says AR tires I cant find Min hardness anywere on site? we have a track up north here that runs AR 38, 44 and 48s on crates and our fastrak tires are not even close. Are we able to do anything to our FT tires to try to even the playing field?
SLM, PLM, LMS, Sprints all have open tire rules for the Pittsburgher. Mods will run BRP rules.
Rain checks from 9/1/2012 will be honored at face value for the remainder of the season which goes until Oct 6. They also will be honored at the Monster Truck Show this afternoon 9/9/12.

Confused, couch? What does someone's couch have to do with the Pittsburgher? LOL
Serious about what follows, as it determines the fate of PPMS. The response to no practice in 2012 is seeming like the response to race track closings. Once support for something dwindles to the point that it is eliminated, then in hindsight it was wonderful. That's why Pittsburgher practice is gone. Constant whining about it costing $20 and then the fatal blow, lack of support. Practice does not come FREE to speedways.
It's actually very simple. When not enough people support an event it will go away. It should be starting to sink in to the entire racing family as the number of active weekly race tracks continues to dwindle that they are not making enough money to cover the cost of operating. Business people do not close businesses that provide a fair return, they close businesses that lose money. Support your local speedway and help it be one that stays.
We operate PPMS in a way that sets it up to be back the next season regardless of the heat we take for it. We have done that for 23 consecutive seasons and are in the process of doing it for season 24. We thank you for coming along for the ride and hope you continue to do so. If feedback tells us practice should return in 2013 we will consider adding it back. If feedback tells us fans and racers will no longer support a two day event with a huge Saturday purse being paid to 5 of the top divisions in our region then it will suffer the same fate as practice. Where is the Economics Man?...he'll spin it a different way!
Here is our very simple spin, if it pays it stays, if it doesn't cover it will be gone! We think that is reasonable, others may not. We have the numbers! We have tried everything under the sun at PPMS this season. When we finally get to take a breath at year end we will evaluate what stays and what goes for 2013. We plan on staying, unsuccessful events will be leaving.
Monster Trucks today, we get to see how that Sunday rain date works in the very first year, oh joy!...then the focus turns to the Pittsburgher!...should have called it the Five Star!

well, to me the race is already ruined. tires and motors go hand and hand. now, you buy more tires to be competitive, and cut them up, even worse.... people think they know the best for fastrak, well you can see it being ruined and more expensive years from now. it works because of the package. free for all's cost more money......jmo. we got the tires, make them buy them, they are the outsiders....
Totally agree Scott...

Translation:Clarity on the PPMS PRO LATE TIRE RULE, Any late model tire meaning any tire legal in UFo LM may be used in Pro Lates at the Pittsburgher!
Our understanding is EDGE tires are open competition tires, so any tire manufacturers open comp late model tires may be used.
Dear teams that have supported us all year,
In our haste to attract as many dollars, I mean cars, as possible we failed to carefully check the rules for the edge group. Because of our error, you now have permission to purchase tires that you can only use for one weekend at our track in order to be on equal footing with a group that will only race one weekend at our track.

WOW here we go again . destroying what was supposed to be a good thing.Clarity on the PPMS PRO LATE TIRE RULE, Any late model tire meaning any tire legal in UFo LM may be used in Pro Lates at the Pittsburgher!

Also we are not concerned about whose seals are on the Crate motor, we are concerned about it being a legit GM crate and the winner best be sure the motor is legit.
The winner just may see some motor tech you have never seen before in this experimental event allowing all Crate Cars to compete! Plans are in the works!
