when i say elkins i dont mean touring or anything. kind of like how on a normal night pms runs FASTRAK but McKean might have a touring show. doesnt elkins have a race this weekend that will have the edge crates running?

Sharon has two FASTRAK Northeast shows this weekend. Well, at least one on Saturday, but they have crates on Friday too.

I also agree with Tommy, and Matt you are right, the money on steel block night went to Burgettstown but it sure helped that Phil and Kyle were smart enough to put their SPEC motor in the crate car for the night. Heck, Jarod and Lynn have Spec motors too, might as well see if you can get them to run also. How about making the cars with non fastrak tires up the weight 75 pounds? Seems like a fair solution.

Somethings just seem backwards.

I believe it is an open tire and box stock CRATE 602/604 engine only event, someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Not sure here, but did the steel block race count towards Fastrak weekly points?

This is not to ruffle anybody's feathers, and there is no reason that it should. But how about a gentleman's agreement between all the guys that commit to coming to just run Fastrak tires. It will help everyone out. I personally don't see many, if any at all, EDGE guys coming, and if they do.....well I guess we will decide what to do from there-but I am pretty confident an FT200 tire can win (although I admit, I have little experience on open tires). What do you guys think- Tommy, Rocky, Justin, Colton, Mike, Josh, Chuck, Beau, Steve, Kyle.....everyone else reading this....speak up and tell me what you think. I can get enough money together to get some used tires off of a super guy, but I think it's stupid for all of us to waste our money if we don't have to.....ESPECIALLY if no outsiders show up. Let's hear opinions. Joe Martin

I was thinking the same thing Joe, but at this point the racers need to make that happen. I got in this mess by trying to be accommodating when i didnt think it would create an issue, ironically Tommy's Dad was one of the guys that called to say that it was unfair to let Edge tires in as they are open comp tires and not let open Hoosiers in, so to make it easy and "fair" everything is in, same as when we ran the SBB with Crates earlier this year. It certainly has not been perceived that way. In hindsight we probably should have stayed with FT tires, but its too late now, the word is out and advertised as open. I was just trying to let everyone come and race with what they had, I should have researched the deal better. My perception was the PPMS regulars would do well with what they had as I also had some feedback indicating guys thought Ft tires would win in an open rule deal. We will have to live with the results of my error. It was an honest attempt to have a nice $2000 to win, over $10000 purse event for all Crates who wanted to come to the Pittsburgher with what they had. We'll see what happens.

We welcome those who wish to support the event, sorry "I" errored in my attempt to make it better. I'll make more mistakes and you guys will let me know about them, but we are actually trying to give you a great racing venue at PPMS. I like to use we, but this deal is an "I" and I'll man up to it. Sorry it happened. We learn from our mistakes and move on.

The original idea was PPMS FASTRAK cars vs EDGE at PPMS unsanctioned which I thought would be neat, it's not working out that way.

i agree also, i know alot of the crate guys have gone and bought new tires for the event and now an open tire rule is posted. therefore theyve spent more money than needed especially with fuel and entry for the weekend. i myself dont have much to run on and if the Edge guys are gonna come in and fill the field, how are your local guys gonna run. Not make the show and waste money? things need to be planned like the tire rule a few weeks in advance, not the week before. then practice being cut? i think that needs to be reconsidered if outsiders are going to come in with different tires.

Maybe I'm missing something here but if all PPMS guys have FT tires already, and you get say 3-5 EDGE guys running open tires, doesn't that mean that there will still be 20+ guys running FT tires, who know the track and the set up infinitely better than the travelers, thus evening up the competition? The only way this becomes a huge issue is if all 20 PPMS guys start buying open tires, which I can't see happening.

Its NOT too late to change it, because the only guys that will show up will be Fastrak guys. On the off chance that an EDGE guy shows up then they will just have to buy FT tires. Better to have your outsiders buy FT tires than pi$$ off the regulars and make them buy open tires.

Ok guys, I am a person of reason and I screwed this one up. I'll eat crow. THE JOOK GEORGE FALL CLASSIC WILL GO BACK TO FASTRAK SANCTIONING AND FASTRAK RULES, meaning it will carry FASTRAK points. PPMS weekly points are done. I would ask that you spread the word, as the confusion I have caused will linger through the event. We will attempt to do the same. I'm sorry for the confusion, I was just trying to bring in more competitors. We want this event to have a positive impact on Crate Racing. FASTRAK it is for the Pittsburgher. If you bought open comp tires we hope you can return them or sell them to LM or Sportsman guys who can use them. I will personally help you do this if you contact me at mmiley99@comcast.net

I believe this a wise executive decision, and should benefit and please your weekly performers/customers. Your intentions and reactions in this matter are more than admirable!! I'll spread the word as much as possible. B) B)

Matt- you never answered my question so I will ask again. Why are/were you attempting to attract a large number of outsiders for the crate race but are trying to keep the Pittsburgher late model main a special for the regional locals? I know there are many such as myself who will not pay your current price to watch a regional field of late models but would gladly pay the admission to your event if it returned to the former format under WoO or Lucas sanctioning. Even if you went unsanctioned and raised the late model to win purse to 20-25k (think the old FallFest) it would be more acceptable than the current version which is basically an overpriced version of the Steel City Stampede, which will basically feature the same cars. Respectfully,in 2013, I hope you will consider restoring what was once Pennsylvania's biggest Late Model event.

Who wants an autograph?

Yeah Joe that would be fair (it looks like a moot point now) but like you said, I don't think that there will be many Edge guys coming anyways. If they do, let them be the ones to find the used tires. Instead of everyone else looking for used tires.

Matt, I think that $2000 to win should be what attracts people to the event, not an open tire rule. Good call on pulling the reigns back in on the tires.

Rocky...I'm checking your RR tire! lol.
