There are definitely tracks out there in a better area that wouldn't have the neighborhood trying to close them down the first time a dust particle escaped the speedway grounds. Dog Hollow, Latrobe, Thunder Valley, heck even Challenger.

Apparently, there are more folks than just these Bed and Breakfast people that are working against the Track, otherwise this would almost be a done deal by now.

Saturday night would probably be the best venue for them anyway! Friday you would be against Lernerville....Bedford...and Dog Hollow! Latest Dog-Hollow rumor I heard came from Jim himself...and that was the track is opening back up in May????? Also heard that the track is owned by the Family and not just Jim. And that other family members don't want to sell????? I think the track(Ebensburg) would do well Saturday nights! They are not planning on running Limitted lates...so no competition from Amp and Hummingbird! And Marioncenter has its own group of guys that run there! A lot of them don't go anywhere else! Why try to get the curfew extended to Midnight????? 11pm would be fine! Lots of tracks have 11pm curfew! Challenger allways ran against Marioncenter. They are about 30 minutes apart...and both tracks seemed to do fine! I think they would get the TVR cars and pick up a few from the other tracks! I see Saturday night working for them! However...I personally would prefer Sunday! I would challenge the ordinance with a good lawyer! ordinaces are made to be broken or changed! Happens all the time! I guess we will see how determined to race these guys are!

They have been working on this for months and still have a lot of to do, challenging the ordinance would be another delay.

The latest facebook posts say that since Saturday is the option that the divisions would now be Steel Block/358 Lates, Hobby Stocks (Pure Stocks), 4 cylinders, crates, and possibly E-Mods.

Why would you race steel blocks/358's when you have three other tracks in the area all racing them on the same night??? If Hesston runs....make that four tracks? Sounds stupid to me!

Not Bashing......But its allmost 2014 and these guys have nothing as of yet! Not even a race day let alone a schedule! Or any work at the track done! I want this to re-open as much as anyone! But I don't want to see it fail. Its allways smart in business to get your "Ducks in a row" before you proceed! What would another month mean at this point???? I would try to get it right from the start! Whats the best senerio for this to be sucessful........SUNDAY! Just my .02 You will be better off to fight the Foes before you get opened and put thier issiue in the past! Or have to deal with them after you open!

I would like to see this place open as much as anybody, but to spend the money to try and open this place would be financial suicide. The people involved I guess are not looking at the big picture. They are letting their dreams get in the way of sound business decisions. My advice to them would be to just walk away from this fiasco. Just my honest opinion.

Word has just come down that thanks to the bed and breakfast reporting all the stuff on facebook that the fair board has backed out of the contract and there will be no racing at all...such a shame... "Hello everyone, I hate to be the bearer of bad news this week, but with that being said we have a very important announcement to make. Before we do, we want to inform you on what happened last week. Dan Savino, Ryan Claycomb, and myself went to a meeting Monday the 6th to negotiate the contract for the speedway. On Wednesday the 8th we agreed to the terms and conditions of the contract and decided to sign off on it on Friday the 10th. Knowing once the contact was signed we would go to the borough and then sign a permit. On Friday afternoon, Dan received a phone call from Darrell Jones and he informed him that attorney Jubas had visitors in his office that morning from the Fairview Bed & Breakfast and they gave him 17 pages of posts and comments from the Lets re-open Ebensburg Speedway Facebook page that contained a few comments that they felt were negative towards them. They then told Dan that the signing of the contract would have to be put on hold. Dan took issue with the negative comments and said that he would review all comments made from his first and only meeting with the Cramers and their daughters. After reviewing every comment from early November through January the 9th Dan found that 98% of all comments made were positive towards the bed & breakfast. There were a few comments that were made, a better choice of words could have been used but nothing that was inflammatory or harsh. We have been nothing but supportive of their Facebook page with over 50 likes and many positive comments and people saying that they would like to stay there during the off season. The bottom line is, the fair board backed out of the contract negotiations due to the allegations made from the bed & breakfast. So we are sad to say that the Ebensburg Speedway will not be opening. However, we are looking into other options for racing in the 2014 season. We will continue to keep you informed."

so a couple people can ruined it for hundreds? because that's fair and all.. Bring your Interest to Knoxdale, PA. There is an exceptional track with a ton of potential, and no bed and breakfasts in sight.

Had to have been more to it than that, hard to believe a crappy little bed and breakfast rules the fair board.Id rather see Thunder Valley or Hesston open back up.

there are so many good tracks that have shut down. Hesston, Central pa Speedway, Thunder Valley, Challenger, I don't know about thunder valley but the others had some pretty big races.

Thunder Valley has had big late model races over their existence. UFO, Three State Flyers, Macs series and I think World of Outlaw late models years ago.

With all the hard work that i'm sure was involved, it's a real shame this hasn't worked out. That being said, there are plenty of other recently closed speedplants waiting for some TLC and some fresh ideas to bring them back to life, and most of them don't have an @$$ backward town borough and bed wetting and breakfast owners to be flies in the ointment!! ;)

But Dog Hollow is about 15 miles away  And Thunder Valley is about 35 miles away

Seems to me that from the beginning these guys needed a good Attorney to handle this deal for them! Would of been a totally different outcome! Probably not too late still! I find it hard to beleive that anyone would care about Facebook posts! I think its just a convenient excuse! Just My .02 And I would also find it very hard to let these other people win! True racers would not give up that easy! Especially after all the hard work! Keep fighting!

The people in the town of Ebensburg do not want a noisy race track in their quiet little town, making dust and having all those haulers dragging trailers through their town ,just face it . how big of a shame would it have been to sink a pile of money into this track and then have the people go to the town meeting and have you shut down ? all the equipment is already at thunder mountain and the place probably does not need a whole lot in the way of repairs jeff taylor and his guys had the place fixed up pretty nice for the race they ran there . i am pretty sure tom mott said the place is available for lease at one time .

So true, if they would have gotten it opened they would have gotten 3 or 4 races in and then would have been shut down. Probably better off in the end that they didn't put the work in the place. Latrobe is a track that would be real close to being ready. They run motocross in the infield, bleachers and concession stand still al there. Would need basic track maintance.

very interesting post from ryan on facebook...also wjac news has picked up the story and will be doing a story coming up... "My biggest gripe is with the fair board and Atty Jubas. They are the ones who got our hopes up and strung this thing out for 6 months only to turn their back on us because of a few negative people. That's why I'm upset about the whole thing and its important to me that people know the truth. The other truth is the bed and breakfast is in the township. They had no right voicing their opinion in a borough meeting. They do not pay burrough taxes. In addiction we were going to great lengths to appease everyoneone up there and we we going to invest $ 40,000 to upgrade the track to make everyone happy. The bed and breakfast told flat out lies on us during the borough meetings and when they met Atty Jubas. This is why we are here now and this is why the media is involved. The borough and county is going to lose good business I assure you of this."
