I could see 250 speedway over in Cadiz maybe changing things around to accompany the PPMS guys. They normally run Fridays but maybe moving to Saturday would be a better option. It's about 45 minutes due West on 22 from Imperial. Like BaconBits said, Lernerville's weekly show is set in there ways and I don't see them changing that anytime soon.

. I'll sell my stuff right now ... LolThe problem is that a Friday commitment to race is difficult for guys that have been committed to Saturday night racing. If/when this happens, a few cars in the greater Pittsburgh area will be up for sale.

I don't know the situation, but the article says it has been for sale for the last few years. If it has been for sale, did those of you know, and if so, why is there any resentment that its being sold now?
Like I said, don't know the situation, what was said to racers, etc. Just want to understand more haha

The track has been in decline since the Mileys took it over, and probably before, which is why the Mileys took it over. Still, it is truly sad to see the track that was originally a Heidelberg replacement actually die. On the plus side, this should improve the front gate for the year, if it ever quits raining on Saturdays. I know I'm planning on going out for the first, (and now last), time in over a decade.
My dad drove late models in the early 70's at North Hills, Butler, Mercer, Blanket Hill, and occasionally Tri City. We won the last late model track championship at Blanket Hill.

Making money in life is important. and I agree with what someone said that no one is making 800,000 a year owning a track. But for you to buy one you have to have some level of wealth. I could not do it. Even if I wanted too. How much is enough? How much money do you need? Mileys can rot in hell with there greedy friends for all I care. I certainly hope they never show there faces at a racetrack ever again.

Seems there is a lot of hatred to the Mileys for selling the track, but none of these haters came up with the funds to buy the track when it was for sale the last several years. If you didn't try to actually save this track yourself, the hate is nothing more than typical internet trash talk.

The Miley family can look in the mirror and see the reason the track is where it is at today. Ask anyone like gearhead or danny rich who have been going there for years they can shed light on it for you. lets review a few key points here that helped lead to the demise of the track in no particular order.
1. stopped allowing people to bring their own beer and forcing them to buy it from them instead (greed)
2. charging ridiculous prices to get in the stands or the pits for their so called specials (greed)
3. not having enough machinery operational at the track which would screw them when it rained as they did not have the means to get the track ran back in and would always cancel (stupidity)
4. failing to properly market the speedway, sorry facebook and twitter are not the be all end all (laziness)
5. Matt and Ben being so conceited they would turn their noses at people who would make suggestions to improve their place or getting defensive and telling fans and drivers if they do not like it don't come back, which from the car counts and fans in the stands it appears some took that advice to heart (ignorance)
6. Place looks like a wreck, bleachers need updated, weeds growing through the fences and on the walls. I mean really how hard is it to either pay someone or you yourself spend a few hours at the place and whack the weeds (laziness)
I'm sure others can add to this but the Mileys took a track that at one time was great and basically got everything they could out of it without giving much back until they were able to sell out.

They couldn't even tell the few people that was in attendance last week ? How low can one get ? To not even have the sack to tell the people so they can have a little respect for you (Miley's). People DESERVED to Hear this from them , not see it on the Internet or news paper . & YES , I DID SAY DESERVE ...... As in RESPECT . I know that these two words are just that to some , two words ,but to others it means far more . Respect for the people that patronized that shithole while it was falling apart , while being told , we are racers , for the racer . People believed the bull that was fed to them for the last few years & stayed ....... When in reality , shoulda went elsewhere years ago .

I think everyone understands the track was not making money apparently. I don't know, I obviously have never seen the books. But, you don't sell it for a slight margin more to be developed over just selling it as a racetrack except for greed. Plain greed. How much money would have been enough? Would 100,000 have bought it, 2 million. How much would have been enough. How much money can you spend? How much money is throwing away a piece of history away to build a shopping center or parking lot or whatever. How much money? As I said before, they had to have some wealth to be able to buy it in the first place. How much more wealth do they need? Is there home not big enough? Need a new paint job? How do you just sell it when you buy it because you like/love racing? They sold out the fans, racers everyone over a few extra dollars they will probably blow through by next weekend. Shameful. I don't care what anyone says this is a sad day and the Mileys are sad people. Greedy sad people. No amount of money that could get will make these people happy. None. If they were not happy being wealthy prior there new found riches will only make it worse. Now they are just more rich and miserable.

Space racer, who knew it was for sale till now. They "are here to keep racing alive" Motordrome is advertised for sale or lease on social media.
Read Starboyshady comments above, pretty sure that is the most upsetting thing about the sale.

I'm not sure what people were actually expecting from the Miley's? I'm not sticking up for them either. We are talking about the same family that is notorious for telling people to go buy their own track when confronted upon. Just bummed because my daughter and I were looking forward to her getting into a young gun car next year when she turns 12.

YES THEY DID! Their names were Red Carns and Dale Bish and they were screwed out of buying it. Ed Ferree also recently tried to buy it and save it.

Crates would certainly have a new home, not sure how many sportsman would make the tow South.
Lernerville isn't going to change their program. Their front gate focused program is their entire selling point.
The track that I can actually see benefiting from PPMS closing is Roaring Knob, but Rick Jones will almost assuredly f*ck that up too.
