My Name is Ryan Claycomb. I will be racing the Number 7 purestock at Dog Hollow Speedway this year. I feel the need to clear a few things up regarding the announcement of the opening of Dog Hollow Speedway. First Dan had no intent to offend or belittle anyone in his announcement of the opening of Dog Hollow speedway. He and I have the utmost respect for Mr. Erikson and Jim Michny and every other track owner racer and fan. I will personally go to Dave and Jim and apologize for making these statement which I see has been quite misunderstood. If you were on the face book page you would see it was in reference to the curiousity of what track we were going to open. We didnt make the announcement so people in suspense and asking if it was TVR, Dog Hollow, Hesston or Challenger. This was simply a play on a previous statement which most of you Im sure did not see. We certainly in our excitement to announce and keep everyone in suspense did not mean to upset or offend anyone. Nor Did Dan or I bash the town of Ebensburg in anyway shape or form. See for yourself on the facebook page we have done everything in the open. Its Called lets reopen ebensburg speedway. I did not erase one thing. I put my name out there because I dont feel I need to have a codename and you can call me at anytime to express your opinion. 8143474015. We are doing our best to revive a good thing and we all have a passion for racing. If anyone would like to help us promote the track I am open to that too. Dave Erikson is in my prayers and I am hoping he recovers. God Bless you all. Good night. You can bash me to my face too I live in Altoona PA call me Ill give you my address!!!!!

Was there any clay put on the track? I was in attendance at the last race at DH, it was so dusty that the cars couldn't be seen on the track. No amount of water or track prep is going to fix this, the only solution is new clay. I'm not bashing the track, just a legitimate question.

nice way to try and explain yourself about this situation but at the end is it really necessary to goad these internet warriors to a face to face confrontation. You have a lot to learn about public relations and how to deal with adversity. You messed up, realized people were upset and did the right thing and explain yourself. But to call and get directions come on are you in first grade.

There was no misunderstanding you called Dave and his race track out specifically by name and then implied you were locked in a battle with him and he finally relented and backed down with his tail between his legs after seeing your awe inspiring display of power. The only excuse for that stupidity is if you drank a 5th of 151 and smoked an ounce of crack while you were at it

Some guys don't think before they post shit on here. I've read, and posted some classless stuff. But that tops them all. Calling out Dave Erikson personally, and his track, went a little too far. An apology was the right thing to do, but doesn't erase what was said. I had heard Dog Hollow was reopening a few days ago and was excited to make a couple trips. That's not going to happen now. I'll drive the extra distance to go watch Jonny Huck hahaha

As usual I am 180 degrees out of line with most Racestud posters. I still do not see where that post disrespects any of the people mentioned. Not a fan of hype promotion but it is what it is. I "understood" the intent of the post, and also the intent of the rebuttals. Since when are we so sensitive that we cannot even mention someones name if they are in poor health? Some of you guys bash everyone ( much more crudely than this) without any consideration of their personal trials or tribulations, but if you see the opportunity to be the moral police and come down on someone for how you perceive their comments you are the first to jump up and say "look at me, look at me, I am classy and will defend those who can't / won't defend themselves"! What a crock. I for one am glad to see Dog Hollow reopen. Good luck on the season.

I fully understand pancreatic cancer. I saw nothing that said they beat anyone down. I saw it as a way to let people know what tracks were under consideration and what track was chosen. Not how I would have done it, but I understood the intent.

You are an idiot, and likely, just as classless as this pile of shit who is opening Dog Hollow again. There is NO defending that garbage.

i agree with legend. which doesn't happen often.

The way this guy made it sound, it was like he was competing with dave erikson and he won. clearly that's not reality.

out of no where who appears its Dave Erickson from Hesston Speedway in one corner & Jim Michny from Dog Hollow Speedway in the opposite corner. Both men approach the center of the ring they're both staring at each other intensely and the crowd grows ever so quiet, OMG what just happened Erickson turns around and leaves the ring

did you get a chance to read this part before he edited it out??

My take is they considered all the mentioned tracks, it came down to Dog Hollow and Hesston. Dog Hollow was chosen. It can be interpreted any way the reader likes. I chose to interpret it this way. Will that work for everyone? Probably not, if one wants to be offended they will be offended. If one wants to sensationalize it they will. I just feel the reason for the post was a race track will be open this year and I am glad it will.

Why would you not continue with the RUSH sanctioning they had there before? Or one of them anyway? Outlaw crate track is a bad idea period. I know, I've been apart of them.

OMG SHOCKER! Sure hope there is still time to get a Lucas race or a WoO show!

I do not know about the WoO, but you will never see a Lucas show @ Dog HollowSpeedway.

They are particular at what venues they hold their shows. For one "appearance" has a lot to do with the ability of a track to hold a Lucas show.

Yes Dog Hollow has good lighting and Sound System but the track surface has a lot to be desired and the outward appearance of the facility has a lot to be desired.

It is too bad that when the track was being built that more thought was not put into what the joint looked like to the casual observer and first time visitor and the person who is visiting a race track for the first time.

Let's face it.. The place looks like a dump. From the Rest Rooms to the Fencing, Hill Side Seatling and anything else one can think of.

It takes more then just the physical race track itself to make a successful racetrack...

As always, just my honest opinionl ... right or wrong.

I am glad to see this racetrack re-open. Sure some will take offense to how this was presented, big deal. Sure the late model pay-outs are not phenomenal, that doesn't mean the racing won't be. I don't have to see the big money teams to enjoy a good race, it might even be better if the high dollar cars stick to the high dollar racetracks and the local limited budget racers put on their own show. Let's see how the changes planned work out as changes are needed in rules and procedures if this hobby is to survive. This new promoter and effort will have my support.

I also wondered what was so offensive.. I'm guessing this is the summary of the non edited post? I admire these guys efforts and sure would've liked to see Ebensburg reopen, and if the 1% chance they had of reopening Challenger wouldve came together, it wouldve been beyond great. Not sure the Dog is gonna any better off than before however, and the announcement is going to be met when all this settles down with more of a shoulder shrug than I'm sure they'll want. Dog Hollow wasnt any big deal the first time it was open, and I still don't forsee any reason to choose it over Lernerville on Fridays.

No disrespect intended.
