feel like I was playing football last night..damnThat feature was brutal though. A lot of cautions with a lot of torn up equipment.

Hats off to you Vince!
Hats off too everyone that took time for the kids!
Great car counts!
Heard the promoter said some pretty ignorant things to the Rush mod guys. Something to the effect of "you guys spend 3,000 on your engines, people around here spend that on golf." If true, that's just ridiculous. I don't attend the place often, but this would be enough to deter me from attending until it's made right with those guys.
Was this really said or are you just pissed off???

All of you complaining about it being late, you are also the ones who say you would wait around until "2 am" during a rain delay to see racing. Well why wouldn't you do the same WHILE watching racing? Should autograph night been the same night as a big race? Maybe not, but Vince explained why and that is good enough for me to move along because Vince is a straight shooter!
Everyone wants more cars more cars! You had a whole lot of them last night and this is what more cars more cars brings, long nights! I remember going to WVMS when I was younger and some heats didn't even roll out yet and it was starting to become light again. You all could have been at the pirate game which lasted 14 innings of INTERMITTENT action for a small fee of at least 40 dollars followed by at least 30-45 minutes of traffic, resulting in you getting home at the same hour as the races. Where the races provided action, albeit crashes, all night long, with a chance for your children to MEET the entertainment and not see them from a bleacher afar....
The raceiver thing sounds more of a problem on the drivers not listening or not cooperating rather than a "management" type of deal, you know where you're running, you know who's around you, GO THERE! It isn't difficult to know where you're at on the racetrack.
The lights were very bright coming outta 4 but what else did you want to be done in such a short amount of time? Or do you want it to be pitch black coming to the flag stand so you really couldn't see anything? Or maybe an hour delay for fixing the lights?
but again the night belonged to Vince and a race in his fathers honor and honor it did! Great show Vince and great turnout by the stocks, I had a fun night and even was able to get up in the morning!

Kudos to you Vince on another great race. Otherwise what a cluster of a night. As original poster mentioned, the show dragged on and on. After every caution they would parade around 5 mins single file before they got lined up. I thought they used electronic scoring so lining them up shouldn't be so difficult. Not the best decision by Ben to put the portable lights where he did and pointing them directly off of turn 4 right into the drivers face as they came off turn 4. Soon as the 6 car flipped, I had a feeling they were going to call it a night. If you want to call it a night due to the lateness fine, but don't say the damage to the wall as a reason. They have ran before with whole sections of the upper wall missing. Also they need to look at doing whatever they can to bring Dow back. The announcer they have now, either it is his first announcing gig or he just doesn't do what he needs to do. All night long, he never ONCE ran down the list of contributors for the Laboon race. Dow would go over the list multiple times in one evening. Another gaffe he made is he said there were 10 rush mods, but if he was paying attention during hotlaps he would have seen there were more. Announcing is a hard job but come on, take a little time and effort to make sure you do it right. Give the lineup, say a few of the drivers sponsors. Again things Dow would do multiple times in one night.
I agree, the new announcer is the worst I have ever heard. He never announces the entire lineup before the race, he rarely tells people where the drivers are from, he doesn't know which turn is turn 1, and he puts the crowd to sleep. It's such a shame that Dow isn't there anymore, he took the time to get to know the drivers, their racing history, and always had great information on the drivers and inside information to pass on to the crowd. The new guy rarely has anything of value to add to the program. He even continuously announces that drivers are in the starting grid as the field paces around the track and they sit in their pit stall loaded up on the trailer due to mechanical issues. Even if they can only get Dow back on a part time basis, he needs to come back or the new guy needs to try harder. The questions he asks in victory lane are dumb too.

There isn't much you can do about at least four crashes that either blocked the track or needed an ambulance to tend to a driver. That was the only reason this night failed, all of the crashes. And there isn't anything you could do about that! It was a great night for a great man, why doesn't everyone just realize that is what the night was supposed to be about, Ed laboon and his honor.

14 innings of Bucco baseball, walked off by Cutch would have been more entertaining than that shitshow, and it was done just as the crate late models were going green.
I'm not going back to PPMS until the only Miley who is ever there is Jared.

"We are genuinely sorry we were not able to complete all events 7/11/15, in particular the Rush Mod Feature. Our standard policy for 27 seasons when this occurs is to run a make up feature for the 14 cars in attendance at their next PPMS event, which we have always done for 27 years. We have never failed to make up a feature in similar situations. The RUSH Mods would have double features at their next PPMS event, with the 7/11/15 feature being first up for the evening. Those RUSH Modified racers who do not wish to return may contact me at mmiley99@comcast.net for a refund."
"Great event put together by Vince, thank you to all who attended."
Thanks again to all the sponsors on the flyer who supported the event!

You and I don't always agree, but I'll take your word here because you have often supported PPMS, even with all of its warts, long after I had also pledged never to spend another dime there while the Mileys still own the place.
I understand some of Andrews arguments, and his compassion is compelling. What he doesn't get is that events that draw new fans and competitors should provide all the incentive needed to try and convince these folks to want to come back. Sounds like an epic fail, despite Vince Laboon's heroic efforts.
I know PPMS is home Vince, but I'm sure there are other tracks that would jump at the chance to host your event, and I hope you keep it going. Our regional Stock drivers deserve these better paying shows.

Great post Skull. I agree he should look else where. Yes I understand its his home track, his dad raced, there, ect. May be offer up a package of what your looking for such as Carl Short does and let the tracks come to you to host the event.

or maybe the point that hes trying to make is that people are on here bitching about the best paid race for the stocks. Vince puts a ton of effort into this race to honor his father and a bunch of crybabies are going to try to ruin it. Everyone needs to shut the F up and thank him for what he has done because nobody else in western pa is doing it. Especially the people on here crying cause they were up past 10:00

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I would recommend Lernerville, Dog Hollow or Tri City for the future of this race.

Why dont the Mileys let Vince promote the track? Dont know if he is able to, but its worth a try?
Because he would show them up. Jared said at Tyler he didn't even know PPMS had a special this coming Saturday or how much it paid to win. That's promoting at its finest when your family doesn't even know whats going on. Besides, the infrastructure there will continue to fail until some money is invested and that will never happen.

I spoke to Jared a few years back and he said he doesnt even like coming to ppms because of the way they make the track so fast and flood the bottom. He would rather go to other tracks.

You all know that Vince is not going to move this race to another track. I don't see how a night with so much racing and so many cars for $15 is an epic fail. The kids around me were totally excited and had a great time. With all of its warts, I'm glad the track remains open. Some of you guys can't wait to come on here and complain, week after week, about this, that, and the other thing. The regular shows at Pittsburgh still offer great competitors putting on great entertainment for race fans, and with many, many special events, spending Saturday nights there is a no-brainer for me.

flash49....for whatever reason, this board seems to appeal to complainers!! Last night Sharon had a great show with the All Star Sprint Car winner decided by a "nose wing" and a very competitive
Modified race as well. All was in the books by 10:35. Has anyone come on here and said anything good?? NOPE!! They would rather complain about Pittsburgh, Mercer or some other track!!
GOOD RACING!!!!
