#453141 All Stars 2023

Posted by dirtstudent2 on 03 December 2022 - 03:52 PM

Sprint car racing is the tracks(Lernerville's) bread and butter always has been and still is no matter what the hype about the popularity of Late's.

Fans go to see what's fast and the Winged Sprints are still the FAST STUFF.

Yes good racing is good racing but fans fork out their money for the excitement which is Winged Sprint Car racing.

.... oh.... I'd much rather sit there and watch a good other type of car race then an off night of Winged Sprint car racing.  ... bull shit

Very good schedule to go watch Sprint car racing on a Friday night and they have brought on enough Late and Mod racing to satisfy the slightly lesser crowds of racing.

The schedule to me looks like it will put fans in the stands on a regular basis.

IMHO they also snuck enough RUSH into their schedule to make those interested in it happy without making the rest of their customers puke and bitch too much.

Weather or not I expected to like it I've seen nothing but over all improvement since the Thompson's took it over.

Only thing missing is a top of the food chain WoO Sprint race but fans in the stands on a normal Friday night far out weights loosing a WoO show..

#452399 Another Great Night of Racing at Lernerville: 6-10-22

If a sit down dine in restaurant can offer a decent piece of fish with macaroni and a side for around $13, why can't you all as an incentive offer a decent slab of fish and fries for $10?

Ain't nobody askin for cole slaw or a drink to go with it, just asking for some good fish

... heck make it $15 for a nice piece of fish and mushrooms and I'd pay that too !

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Never said it was a good idea  :)

Start 24 cars in the feature..

$2000 to make the feature.

$2000 to win the feature.

No tow and you go home with what you got in your pocket if you don't make the feature.

So, what you're saying as that as a race fan, watching racing uses up your fan time.

No.

Because of my age and an 1.5 hr drive I can only stay at the track so long before it's no longer safe for me to drive home.

If my allotted time at the track per my own ability to stay and watch is used up on a Friday Fab 4 show by something other then normal Fab 4 racing, I will have to leave probably not seeing the last two features if it does become a 5 on Friday show.

An example is when there are fireworks at the track.

I enjoy the great fireworks put on at the track but it does cause me to have to leave before all features are concluded.

#451461 Are these Red Commie China carbs banned?

Posted by dirtstudent2 on 22 December 2021 - 09:32 AM

If not they should be!

https://www.proformp...com/carburetors

Same with Rochester

Only carb that should be allowed is a Holly owned by:

and yes Holley does make some parts in Red Commie China

#451385 Where/When are the indoor racing fixes for racing fan jitters?

Posted by dirtstudent2 on 29 November 2021 - 12:18 PM

A couple to get it started:

Dec 5th indoor kart racing at the Hog Barn Columbus Ohio Expo Center

Dec 18-19th Fort Wayne Indoor Midget and smaller stuff.  Two days of racing from 10am to 10pm

Big names for the midget racing etc.

#451087 Pittsburgher admission prices

Posted by dirtstudent2 on 28 September 2021 - 09:21 PM

... so a driver has to pay $315 to get in to race both days.

I guess it's a so what that's cheap because the cars they race are very inexpensive compared to Super's.

... ooops, just saw I can watch Lucas at raceway 7 friday for $30.

nevermind the going to PPMS friday i'm going to raceway 7 and don't have to worry about it anymore..

Edit:  and  :) looking at Raceway 7's site I see they have $2 beers and I know their food is ok too, especially the French fry stand.  :)

I think I'll call them tomorrow to see if they might do curly fries again.

One year there I asked about the curly fries they use to have and how I miss them.

She said she would get some for me for their next sprint show.

ya know what the next show she got a big bag of curly fries to sell just for me and who ever gets the rest out of the bag till there gone.

NOW that's a nice thing to do for a fan in anyone's book.  :)

Has anyone seen any tire tech beyond having the correct tire sold for the series, anywhere this year?

#449779 A question just for fun and trying to learn

Posted by dirtstudent2 on 27 May 2021 - 10:12 AM

Watching a fine young man like Chris Gabehart grow up with correct youngster knowledge of how things work on a kart, then off to Purdue for his engineering degree and experience and more experience on asphalt oval even watching him win the last kart Briggs and Stratton 500 at Charlotte, no never would this dumb old man qualify for something like NASCAR.

And I'm more then satisfied being able to talk setup and the why of it with top Sprint Car team crew chiefs.

Got to see a now little bit old friend and talk right front with him at Sharon WoO race along with left rear function and need.

That's more then enough for any old mind wandering old fart.  :)

edit:  Do you all know the difference between the 17 NOS cars front end at Sharon and the rest of the WoO regulars?

And the why of it making his car able to be so far superior up top, aside from his experience and learning how to do it up top?

I know the difference and I think I know the why.    :)
