My question is how many late model drivers went home Sunday night feeling like they got screwed? The drivers bring fans... no drivers equals no track... as a fan u don't go to watch 10 slm we showed up Sunday looking at every hauler to see who was there. A quick list of incidents I seen.

Heat race Troutman smashed brady after her couldn't pass clean no call

Feature
Blose jumped every start no penalty
Blose couldn't pass brandy clean so he punted him no penalty

Troutman was spun out and sent to the rear. Sorry forgot by who

As a fan watching it looked like amp wanted blose to win no matter what.

I was sitting near several successful street stock drivers in our area. Each one of them said that it was by far the worst officiating they ever seen. ...

It's hard to believe the track didn't make money. Stands and hill were pretty full. At 15 bucks a head

Seems to me that Mike Blose was going to race there all season till they cut the payout!  Guess he's not a name driver though

Are you serious??  Hard to believe the track didn't make money? the stands were not full, hilltop wasn't bad...about the same as any night. Yes ...the employees all worked for free, along with his weekly employees, the ambulance crew, fire crew, concession stand food, electric, fuel for trucks, repair to the trucks through the week( not in the best shape!) Porta johns, garbage collection, lawn mowing equipment.  These things are called "overhead"! Oh. what about the thousands of $ payout for the LMs, and the sprints. And when you DON'T get enough cars to cover the payout, it comes out of your pocket!! Just like it did every week! You guys act like this is something Jeff wanted! Have you seen the changes he's made to the whole place? Trying to make the track bigger, More seating for the fans, Better lighting! You really believe he wanted to shut the doors? Get it through your heads!!! When you're not making money and paying the bills...you CAN'T keep doing what you're doing!! GEESH!!!  Oh...and the officiating...it was bad, but trash the man holding the flag and the ones in the booth!

Well Legend...Ive been involved in racing since 1976.  We will see how long you last!  The problem with you and most other guys racing.....is that you treat it like a Hobbie!  Its not...its a business!  And one that makes no money!   And it has to make some kind of financial sence.  Other wise you won't last to long!  I understand the Pain of the Promotor as well!  But people aren't on here asking????? Where are all the promotors???  They are asking where all the cars!  I only am answering the car  questions!  But I could answer the Promotion questions as well!

A person would be better off going to a casino and blowing their money than buying that track. Its a proven fact in the last 15 years a track cant survive in Clearfield County no matter who runs it or how much money they have.

You are so wildly out of touch with how racing works it's insane. The sport passed you by at least 25 years ago.

There hasn't been a promoter in this area since Don Martin passed and Dennis Shutt walked away from McKean County.

Jeff bought a track that was a turd and tried to turnturn it into a rose.you can paint a turd but it is still a turd. Plus he was going head to head against 2 established tracks in the same area. All this in a low population area with out a lot of wealth. Not very smart business decisions from the start

With all the other tracks out there ....that are idle....I couldn't understand from the beginning why he wanted this track!  I have never seen either of these Clearfield tracks be successful!  Thats why "The big Track" got paved!  trying to find something different that will work!  And from the beginning....dumb mistakes!  Like the weight limmit(trying to cater to ten steelblocks because he could pay them less) and the different rules and classes, and Saturday night racing against two established tracks in the same area!  .  And then the Paycut  "Final  Nail in the coffin"  I hate to see anything neative for racing!  Sorry it didn't work out!  Hopefully someone else will take over and pick up where Jeff left off!  Maybe Bacon Bits should think about track promotion...he seems like a savy up to date kind of guy with all the answers.  Good Luck to whom ever!  Hopefully someone.

Legend, Come on, be honest. Your driving the car is a hobby, but a "good business man" would be using his hobby race team as a write-off against his primary business.

CHEVY1A, As much as I like to stop at a casino every once in a while, I totally disagree. Both tracks have made good money over the years, but for different reasons. When Hidden Valley opened, it was perfect timing. Did great for several years, then for several reasons it went south. A new owner comes in (now Gamblers) with great intentions but couldn't make it successful.

Now we all know where it stands currently with Mr. Taylor. But funny how AMP was the next best thing since sliced bread in May of 2013 on Racestud!!!

Snooky, I did chuckle reading your post.

To Express Man's posts, I think he is trying to say: Race teams should be upset, even though there were only four races left, they committed to the rules for AMP knowingly they weren't legal elsewhere but planned on a full season. Now at this late in the season they will have to accrue added expenses to race elsewhere or park the car for the season.

The future of weekly racing is bleak in certain areas and when the area is flooded too. Don't get me started on why tracks won't work together and come up with a schedule, rules, and classes that would fit a race teams schedule to run every week and a joint points fund..... That might make too much sense.

Fwig do me a favor when one of these guys who claims massive " racing losses " against their " primary business income " gets audited I want to see the look on their face on camera as the IRS field agent goes down the list disallowing every item then slaps them with interest and penalties. What you are describing is essentially tax fraud and while I have no doubt most racing business owners are doing it , it doesn't hold up to audit . I don't care what your buddy the CPA tells you I have been audited 4 times and I know how shit works .

A race track may be a business, but in no way shape or form is a race car a business proposition. Anyone who thinks they are going to make money racing a car is a couple bricks shy of a full load. Racing is a hobby and recreation for most people involved . You have to understand that from the first part you buy for that machine your never getting your money back. If you can't afford that idea then take up golf or fishing to pass your time.

A wise man once said..... The fastest way to make a small fortune is to start with a big fortune and buy a racecar !

What happened to the fans that paid for their hillside spots? Guess they got robbed from Jeff and what about the guys that built a semi late for there, with the cam rule they got no place to run and be fast!! A lot of fans and drivers got screwed

Sorry but I don't agree with your statements here. If there were "a lot" of fans it probably wouldn't have closed.

Let's do some math.
Late models purse 16400
Sprints 8000 guessing bc I didn't see a complete rundown
Total 24400

Pits 42 cars 4 crew/drivers per at 30 each
5040

Grandstand/hillside 15 per guessing 1300 fans 19500

Food 1500

25540 total

I understand that I'm just guessing on the numbers but this is what he needed to just break even.
